Signal Dmg.d Medford police said Wednesday morn ing that the traffic signal at East Main st. and Riverside ave. had been damaged. They said one lens was broken, another lens hanging open and the as sembly knocked off center. They said a vehicle of unusual height is suspected of damaging the signal. Ceiling Lifted Medford army reserve officials said today that the July 1 ceiling on assigned number of men had been lifted for the Medford area units. The units can now enlist any num ber of men with prior service and in some cases men without prior service, they said. Hospital patients In Rogue valley hospital as medical pati ents are Lee F. Shrubs Taken Janis Mae Sterton, 1401 Jasper st told city police Tuesday that several small shrubs had been taken from her front yard on Monday night. Police said they are in vestigating tire tracks found near the area. Damaged Officials at Bear Creek orchards reported to the sheriff's deputies Monday eve ning that 30 smudge pots had been turned over In their orch ards causing the loss of some 300 gallons of oil and possible damage to the trees. One Car Accident A car driven by Lee Roy Hancock Jr., 26, of 744 Beall lane, rolled into a roadside ditch on Merriman rd. at Gilman corner near Cen tral Point, state police said. The driver told the investigating of ficer that in trying to avoid an oncoming car he got too close to the edge of the road. Only minor damage was reported and no injuries resulted, state police said. Trucks Collide Trucks driv en by Raymond Gene Hilton, 20, 2599 Lone Pine rd., Med ford," and Mable Cupp Davis, 48, of 1135 4th ave., Gold Hill, collided at Seven Oaks corner on Highway 99 near Central Point yesterday, state police said. Hilton drove his truck out in front of the Cupp truck, the investigating' officer reported. Little damage was reported. Hilton was cited for failure to yield the right of way, officers said. Light Bulb Sale Planned Tonight The Crater Lions club of Med ford will hold another light bulb sale tonight, announced Earl Richardson, publicity chairman. Stock Market Makes Up Most Losses Today New York TCP) The stock market came back like a lion today and made up most of the losses suffered Tuesday on news of the President's illness. Tuesday's sharp sell-off de pressed stock prices to the point where bargain hunters couldn't resist the urge to buy. The rally restored more than four billion dollars to market values, which was about one bil lion shy of what had been lop ped off Tuesday. , The oils featured on the up side as a group. Gulf Oil was the pace-setter rising eight points at its high. It lost part of this gain later. Amerada, Shell, So-cony-Mobil, Cities Service, Un ion Oil of California, and Skelly all were strong. Zenith rose al most 10 points at its high and touched a new high in the tele vision - electronics group.
