OSC Club installs Mrs. John A.' Carter of Med ford was installed as president of the Jackson county unit of the Oregon State college Mothers club at a meeting Tuesday eve ning at the American Legion home. The meeting closed the year for the Jackson county unit. Other officers for the coming year who were installed includ ed Mrs. Charles W. Forrest, Ash- I t . . n . v-uroy, cnxrai i-oint, secretary; and Mrs. G. W. Couey, Medford, treasurer. Mrs. E. M. Stanfield was installing office.-. The unit contributed $100 to the state scholarship fund and plans were made for members to attend the Mothers week end at Orppnn Ktato oniinno in rv.n...i lis May 10 through 12. A radio broadcast for Oreznn State college mothers pertaining .to Mothers weekend will be broadcast over radio station KYJC at 4:15 p.m. on their bul letin program beginning May 6. Tuesday's meeting was pre ceded by a potluck dinner, with the fathers as the guests. Enter tainment was by Lois Young, Rae Burritt, and Monte Noble, who made up an accordion trio. Mrs. Dean was chairman of ar rangements for the dinner with Mrs. Stansfield chairman of decorations. Student Elected Society Officer Ashland Mrs. Betty Tenny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wal lace Guy Jamieson, post office box 1064, was recently elected vice president of Sigma Tau, Women's speech honorary so ciety. Mrs. Tenny, a freshman, at SOC is majoring in secondary education. Other officers of the honor ary are Connie Cleveland, Rose burg, president; Feryl Angeli, Lakeview, secretary; and Doro thy Long, Talent, treasurer. The two' o'clock rites were performed by the Rev. Lewis Manning of the Hornbrook Methodist church. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ardon Burns of Hornbrook and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Paulsen, formerly of Hornbrook, but now living in Central Point, Ore. Mr. Burns gave his daugh ter in marriage. About 100 guests attended. Worn previously by her cousin, Mrs. Leland Stick ney of Medford, at her wedding in December 1955, the gown was fashioned with a lace bodice over satin, long sleeves and a full net skirt over satin. Her finger-tip length veil was held by a Juliet cap embroidered with mother of pearl, and her bouquet was of red and white rosebuds. The honor attendant was Miss Marilyn Cummins, Yreka, a friend of the bride since gram mar school days. Her dress was a pastel green sheath with matching . nylon net overskirt. Bridesmaids -were her sisters, the Misses Arlene .and Barbara Burns. Their dresses were styled similar to the maid of honor's, and were pastel yellow and orchid. All three attendants car ried bouquets of carnations dyed to match their frocks. Carl Pickard was best man for Mr.- Paulsen,- and ushers were Robert ., Burns,, Dunsmuir, Calif., the bride's brother, and Donald Burns, Belmont, Calif., a cousin. Preceding . the ceremony the wedding music and marches were played by Miss Judy Moore of Grenada, Calif., who also played the accompaniment for a duet surig by Mrs. L. C. Walsh and Mrs. . Henley Clawson. The reception was held in the church parlors. Mrs. Leland Stickney took charge of-, the guest book, Mrs. Floyd Burns, an aunt of the bride, cut the cake, Mrs. Al King presided at the punch bowl and Mrs. Rich ard. Campbell of Chico, Calif., served coffee. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Burns chose a bottle green changeable taffeta dress with beige accessories. The bride groom's mother wore navy blue with white accessories, and both mothers wore corsages of pink camellias. The newly weds had a short honeymoon and then drove to San Leandro, Calif., where : they are . living at 143 Avenue.. For traveling the bride wore a light blue suit with white accessories. - - Both young people graduated from . the Hornbrook grammar school and Yreka high school. Mr. Paulsen, served three years in .the Army in Japan and Korea, receiving his discharge in Jan uary of this year, and has since been, employed as a repair man for. the Western Electric com pany, in San Leandro. The new MrS. Paulsen" attend the Samuel Merritt . Schools of Nursing in Oakland, Calif, and later was employed in a ; clinic in San Mateo. For the past few months she -has been on the office staff of the Fruit- Growers Supply company in Hilts, Calif. Where You Park at the Door Gold Hill Among the large; of early spring weddings, was that of Miss Nadra Lynn Moore and Darrel Greb, held Friday. April 26, at First Presbyterian church, Medford. The 'bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl F. Moore, Gold Hill, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alvin P. Greb, Eagis Point. The Rev. John Reynolds, assist ant pastor of First Presbyterian church, Medford read the dou ble - ring ceremony at eight o'clock in the evening. The re; ception'was held in the church parlor, with about 200 guests attending. Mrs. H. E. Marsh was at the organ, and soloist was Mrs. Nor man C. Gail, Gold Hill. " Baskets of white stock, fern, and Easter lilies decorated ' the church. Large white candelabra held tapers, and satin bows with fern decorated the pews. Escorted and given in marri age by her father, the bride wore a gown of imported French hand-clipped " Chantilly lace oyer white ' satin designed ' by her mother. The scalloped neckline was accented with white 'seed pearls and irridescent sequins. The skirt was fashioned with a chapel length train with rows of lace and pleated tulle. The finger-tip veil fell from a' crown of white seed pearls and sequins on illusion net, and she. carried a white orchid with stephanotls on a white Bible. - The . bride wore an heirloom pearl necklace belonging to her grandmother, Mrs. Bert Stephen son, Grants Pass. They have been worn by every bride in the last generation of the family. Mother-Daughter Banquet Planned Monday Evening The annual mother-daughter banquet of Christian Business and Professional Women will be held Monday, May 6, in the Pioneer room of the Hotel Jack son at 6 p.m. All interested wom en of the community are in vited to attend and bring witn them their mother or daughters. Mothers' day music will be featured on the program of the evening, and Miss Alice Wooley of Talent Methodist church will give a devotional' message on the theme of the month. The latest in hair styling will be presented by Mrs. Virginia Welch of Virginia's Big Y Beauty salon. Mrs. Eloise Win- klebleck, chairman, will pre side. She 'wore a. ballerina length dress of - coral taffeta with a coral lace picture hat and gloves and matching slippers. She carried a cascade, of coral carnations interlaced with whita tulle and ribbon. ; Bridesmaids and matrons were Mrs. Harold Holloway, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Fred Fletcher, cousin of the bride, and Miss Joanne Ritter. Their ballerina length dresses were of nile green taffeta and were worn with nile green lace pic ture hats and gloves. They car ried bouquets of shattered car nations with tulle and satin rib bon which matched the dresses. The flowergirl, Dimpy Greb, cousin of the bridegroom, wore a ballerina length frock of coral taffeta with matching lace and tulle hat, designed like the bridesmaid's dresses. She scat tered petals from a white lace basket. -. Bobby and Becky Byers were ring-bearers. Becky wore a nile green net and taffeta dress with maicning Donnei : ana suppers, and a wristlet of coral carna tions. . Candlelighters were Susan Rosecrans, Gold Hill, and Steve Mapel, nephew of the bride. Susan's nile green taffeta dress was fashioned like the brides maid dresses, and c was worn with matching slippers and a coral carnation - wristlet. For her ' daughter's wedding Mrs. Moore wore ' a champagne lace dress over pink taffeta with matching hat and accessories, and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The bridegroom's mother wore an ice blue lace dress over ta- feta with white hat and acces sories, and a pink rosebud cor sage. Harold Holloway, brother-in- law of the bridegroom, was best man, and ushers were Derwin Mapel, brother-in-law of the bride, Ronald Greb, brother of the bridegroom, and John Greb, cousin of the bridegroom. Arrangements of lavender li lacs and snapdragons decorated the church parlor for the re ception. White tulle with car nations and fern encircled the wedding cake, cut by an aunt of the bride, Mrs. Bert Al bert, Chiloquin, Ore. Miss Rose Drake and Miss Grace Gail, botn of Gold Hill, served punch. Miss Maria Abbott, Central Point, cousin of the bride, took charge of the guest book, and Miss Jo anne Ritter, Gold Hill, caught the bridal bouquet. For traveling the bride wore an ice blue linen sheath and duster with' matching accessories and a white orchid "corsage. The newlyweds spent their honey moon touring Oregon and are making their home at 717VS West 14th street, Medford. The bride, a graduate of Crater High school in Central Point, attend ed Southern Oregon college and is now a secretary - for William L. White, public accountant, in Medford. The bridegroom at tended Medford High school, and was graduated from Eagle Ponu High school before attending Southern Oregon college. He is now an employee of First Na tion Bank of Portland, Medford Branch. Drive Set , By League About 20 members . of the Medford League of Women Vot ers will take part in the group's annual finance drive Monday, according to Mrs. Robert Hiatt, outgoing president- r Solicitors will contact approxi mately 80 persons who have in dicated interest in league activi ty and in good' government. The one-day drive also is used as a means of discussing League of Women Voters purpose and accomplishments with the public and to determine views of non members concerning the group's work, she said. The $500 goal of the drive will supplement the income from membership dues and member contributions to carry out the league's work for better govern ment and political responsibility. Leagues throughout the nation seek such support from men and women outside the membership who can be brought to appreci ate the group's purpose and cur rent value, Mrs. Hiatt added.
