Two charter members, Mrs. A. J. Loeffler and Mrs. Glen V. Allen, and past presidents of the group were honored. Past presidents attending were Mrs. C. A. Renken, Mrs. Charles Crary, Mrs. Clay M. Lee, Mrs. A. G. Stout, Mrs. F. E Cantrill, Mrs. E. Francis Cronin, Mrs. Esther Coleman, Mrs. H. J. Boyd, Mrs. A. L. McClure, Mrs. John Mansfield, Mrs. M. H. Par sons and Mrs. Gerald Von Ting. Mrs. Lee read a history of the organization. Hostesses were Mrs. A. B. Davis, chairman, Mrs. T. J. Wil liams, Mrs. Earl Nelson, Mrs. John Graves, Mrs. Jack Weddle, Mrs. K. L. Denton, Mrs. William Pyle and Mrs. L. E. Juniper. Juniper and Mrs. Bruce Braaten, pinochle prizes by Mrs. Fred Baggenstos and Mrs. E. W. Ingram and canasta prizes by Mrs. M. R. Yost and Mrs. H. W. Sturgeon.. A special award went to Mrs A. C. Stock still. Decorations were in the red and white valentine theme. An arrangement Of red carnations and white stock with red tapers centered the head table, and val entines and red tapers complet ed the table decorations. Adding to the interest of the day was an exhibit of valentines, some many years old, arranged by Mrs. Davis. Corsages of violets were pre sented to the charter members and past presidents. Retired Teachers Elect Delegates Mrs, Ivah Murray, president of the Retired Teachers' depart ment, Oregon Education associa tion, outlined the events for the state convention of the organiza tion to be held in Portland March 14 at the last meeting of the Retired Teachers of Jackson county. Mrs. George Carter, president, and Mrs. Marie Dizney will at tend the convention as delegates from the local group. Following the business meet ing held at the home of Mrs. George B. Canode, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Haskins showed slides taken during their recent trip to Europe. Assisting at the tea hour were Mrs. L. A. Crane and Mrs. Mamie Bloomfield. There were 23 members and four guests present at the meeting. Mrs. Gene F. Chamberlain, president, presided during the luncheon and business meeting. Sojourners is an organization devoted to the interests of new comers to the city and any woman who has lived here two years or less is eligible for membership. Miss Jennings is a junior at Talent High school. Mr. Webber, an airman second class in the United States Air Force, is sta tioned at Chanute Air Force Base, 111. He is a graduate of Talent High school. No date has been set for the wedding. Portland Woman Pays Official Visit ' Mrs. Minnie Clark, Portland grand gila monster for Oregon of Military Order of the Liz ards, fun order of the United Spanish War Veterans auxiliary, made her official visit to Cebu swamp at a meeting held at the VFW Hall, Grants Pass, Feb ruary 9th. Twenty-three mem bers attended the dinner which preceded the meeting, the val entine theme was used for table decorations. Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Don An derson, Medford, department president, were introduced dur ing the business meeting. Mrs. Kate Mcllvain, Miss Jay Alisch and Bob Carter were in itiated into the order. Miss Vir ginia Wallis, and Mrs. Willie Cooper were installed into of fice, as they were unable to attend the January meeting. Mrs. ' Mabel Nicholson, Med ford, was presented a past gila monster pin by Mrs. Ted Cotter, gila monster. Plans were discussed for the grand convocation which will be held in Grants Pass in July. The group will meet with Mrs. Harry Barneburg, 1297 Sunset avenue, Medford, March 9. ' Nevita Past Matrons To Meet Wednesday Past Matrons' club of Nevita chapter will meet at the Jackson hotel for luncheon Wednesday, February 20 at 12:30 p.m. A business meeting will follow luncheon. Miss Haas is 'a graduate of Lincoln High school in Portland and is now employed by Employ er's Insurance company in Long Beach. Mr. Westwell was gradu ated from Jefferson High school in Portland and was recently discharged after serving with the United States Army. He is now a student at Long Beach City college. No date has been set for the wedding. Dinner, Meeting Set in Rogue River i By Presbyterians Rogue River Women's asso ciation of Hope Presbyterian church, Rogue River will meet Thursday, February 21, at 7:45 p.m. at the church. All of the women of the area are invited to attend. The annual Washington's birthday dinner given by Hope Presbyterian church is set for Saturday, February 23, in the Fellowship hall starting at 5 p.m. A charge will be made for the turkey dinner. Members are to bring table service and be pre pared to do sewing. All Navy Mothers are Invited to attend these meetings to learn of the club's activity.
