A plan proposed by Dr. E. D Furrer, a Eugene physician, would divert millrace water through a six-foot pipe to Ama zon creek. The Millrace Citizens' commu te said the year-around flow would end unsanitary conditions on Amazon creek, converting it into an attractive waterway. Millrace water in the Amazon would be used for irrigation wa ter west of Eugene and the rest would flow into Fern Ridge lake. Estimated cost of the project was set'at between $260,000 and $500,000 to be financed through sale of irrigation water. Friday, January 11, 1957 MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE FIVE .
