Stock Sales New York The Se curities and Exchange commis sion has obtained a temporary injunction against Georgia-Pacific Corp. of Portland, Ore., prohibiting the big plywood pro ducer from further saies of its common stock. The SEC's New York reg ion- al office obtained the injunction from the United States District Court for southern o district of New York, alleging violations of the securities act of 1933. The complaint asserted that the company had used the mails illegally in the sale and offer ing of stock. In newspaper .and magazine advertising, according to the comnlaint. the company em ployed a 'biograph that was "false and misleading," insinuat ing that if all the company's forests were felled and products sold at today's prices the stock would have a value of $145 a share. The SEC said the book value of each share of the common stock was $14.50. The issue will be argued in court next Thursday. A company spokesman said late Friday night the advertise ment in question did not deal with the value of the stock and had nothing to do with the sale of common stock by the comp any on Oct. 16.
