Mr. and Mrs. i Myrlc Anhorn were honored at I a reception Sunday afternoon at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Anhorn, Beall lane. Mr. and Mrs. Anhorn were mar ried June 3 at Coeur d'Alene, Ida. Mrs. Anhorn is the former LaVerne Rcbbe. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Piebbe, Everett, Wash. Mr. Anhorn is an airman first-class in the United States; Air Force. Serving the tiered cake was Mrs. Harold Holloway, Medford and Mrs. Melvin Anhorn. Med ford. presided at the punch bowl. Calling during the afternoon were friends and relatives. The house was decorated with gladioli. i Airman and Mrs. Anhorn ar- j rived Friday from his base at : Payne Air Force Base at Everett, , j Wash. They are spending two i weeks here visiting his familv 1 and friends. Stops in Belgium, a lour of Germany including a trip ; on the Khine river by steamer, j and tours of Switzerland. Italv I and France are on tiie itinerary of the couple for August. The Haskins left here June 23 by car and made slops in Lake : view. Ore., Albion, Ida.. Raw lins, V.'yo.. and Grand Island, Neb., on their way to New York. In Albion the Haskins were j guests of Mr. and Mrs. August He i.;cl. formerly of Singing Pines ! ranch near Rogue River. ; In Peoria. III., the travelers spent some time with Mrs. Has- kins' sister. Mrs. Albert V. Sch ram, whose husband, a fre j quent visitor in Medford. died about the time the Haskins left j for Illinois. At Peoria Ihe Haskins look the I new Rocket train to Chicago, and tiie Commodore to New York ' City. In New- York the travelers attended a concert at Radio City Music hall. Attending the same concert were Mrs. Clarence Meeker. Dr. and Mrs. J. S. ; Hcathcrington and Dr. and Mrs. ; G. A. Dierdoi ff of Medford. Mi", anri Mrs. Haskins will be away until fall. Sunday. A number of preliminary meetings have been held and another is set for Mondav. July 30. at 8 p.m. in Medford IOOF hall. Tne organization is open to all girls, and interested girls or their mothers may contact either Mrs. Jesse Thomasson or Mrs. Riley Applegate. Officers will be elected at Monday's meeting and plans made for in stitution of the charter August 4. Mrs. Thomasson will be ad visor for the group, and Mrs. Applegate the assistant. ! Minn., in a ceremony held Wednesday. July 23. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Swartz. Old Stage road. Mrs. Swartz and the bride are sisters. The Rev. D. E. Millard of ficiated, and only immediate family members attended. The bride wore a navy blue afternoon dress with white trim and blue accessories. Mrs. Swartz. who attended her sister, was dressed in white. Mr. Swartz served as best man for Mr. Helmick. Penn. The bride, a native of Liver pool, attended school in that city and for several years was employed in the Liverpool post office. She came to the United States m May of 1955 and has been making her home with Mr. and Mrs. Swartz. The bridegroom, a graduate of the Mapleton High school in Pennsylvania, served in the Unit ed Slates Army for more than three years and then joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Liverpool for a time, i and met his bride in that city. He is em ployed by the Park Loading company of Medford. Californian Wed To Claude Saylor A ceremony held July 10 at 11 a.m. in Santa Ana. Calif., mar- j ried Mrs. Willa Mae Vinson, of ' that city, and Claude Saylor of Medford. The Rev. Glen McFar land of the Reformed Presbyter ian church officiated at the double ring ceremony which w as performed in the home of the bride's daughter and son-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Wanes. For her w edding the bride i wore a dress of turquoise lace with a white orchid corsage. Wcddini: music was played by Larry Omohundro. organist, and Lorraine Thompson Anderson, niece ol" the bride, of North Hollywood, sang appropriate solos. Following the service a buf fet luncheon was served in the patio. Assisting Mrs. Waites were the bride's sisters.
