the part of Sara, the maid who's

During curtain calls, bouquets
were delivered on the stage to
Miss Hulse. Mi.-s Kelly and Mrs.
Kilbourn. However, the audi
ence delivered an "invisible bou
quet" to lne director. Bob Sted
man. It takes a capable director
and a good cast to make a suc
cessful production and "Late
Love" has both. This is the fifth
Footlighter show he has di
rected. "Late Love'' will be repeated
tonight. Thursday. Friday and
Saturday in the Footlighters' the
ater at the old fairgrounds site.

Stevenson Presents Plan
A 20-ycar-building and devel
opment plan for Southern Ore
gon college was presented by its
president. Dr. Elmo Stevenson.
It is the first such long-time ap
praisal conducted by any of the
state's smaller colleges. The plan
calls for S7. 000. 000 expansion in
the next two decades.

men and two women returned
a verdict of acquittal in the kid
nap trial of Paul L. Stelle. of
Puyallup. Wash., late yesterday.
Stelle had been charged with
kidnaping a Milton - Freewater
lady taxi driver and forcing her
to drive him to Hood River,
where the cab ran out of gas.
The 39-year-old Stelle had
walked away from the Washing
ton state prison at Walla Walla
May 1 while he was confined in
minimum security quarters. He
uas serving a sentence for robbery.

night of July 5. Stelle and two
other prisoners broke out of the
jail, only to be captured minutes
later by police who had been
warned by a witness.

FPC for the license change. Ac-
cording to the new plans, the
development as a single unit

velopment. The 860 fool diversion dam
j included in the project would
create a revervoir w ith a normal
water surface at an elevation of
3793 feet and back water three
miles upstream to the tailwater;
of the company's Keno dam.
A 2' i mile conduit would con
nect with previously named Big
Bend No. 2 power house site.
The power house would have a
capacity of 80,000 kilowatts.
The Big Bend development is
the first in a S70.000.000 pro
gram which the company plans
to build over the next 10 to 12
years. Total output of the proj
ect would be 330.000 kilowatts.

branch libraries have been sup
plied with shipments of 125 vol
umes during the past month, of
which 50 were new publications.
Miss Helen Webster, librarian,
has announced.
At the same time shelves were
examined for the removal of
outworn, outdated, or outread
books.
Exchanges ot oh volumes ate
made each month for each
agency, and each exchange in
cludes a number of current, pop
ular titles, as well as a selection
of books for children, she said.

and in better order on the shelves
