The Angels pushed across an unearned run in the 10th Tues day night to nip Sacramento 7-6 after the Solons had battled back for two runs in the eighth and another in the ninth to send it into extra innings. The league-leaders had to win it or see their two-game bulge over Seattle shrink to one. The Rainiers had scored all their runs in the seventh inning to overtake San Francisco 5-4. In still another one-run victory, Portland edged San Diego 3-2. Hollywood withstood three Van couver homers to win 7-3 in the league's other game. The Angels put it away when the Sacramento defense collap sed in the 10th. Jim Bolger was safe on an error by shortstop Joe Koppe. He stole second, went to third on a throwing error by catcher Danny Baich and then romped across when El Tappe delivered a single. Uphill Struggle It was uphill all the way for the Solons, who had led the series two games to one. Wally Westlake's two run homer in the eighth put them within one run and Harry Bright's second double of the night in the ninth drove in the tieing marker. The Angels' Piper Davis hit his third homer over the left : field barrier in the fourth. j Seattle handed San Francisco j its sixth straight setback with a five-run seventh inning. The Seals built up an early 3-0 lead as R. W. Smith breezed along with a one hitter until the sev enth. The Rainiers belted the smooth throwing left hander out with singles by Joe Taylor, Vern Stephens. Jack Lohrke and pitcher Don Fracchia. Bill Ab ernathie took over and Art Shult closed out the scoring with a two-run single. The Seals had peppered away with single tal lies in the first, fifth and sixth frames, the latter on a home run by Bob Pietro. They added an other in the seventh, but it left them one-shy. Portland got three runs in the seventh on home runs by Jack Littrell and Eddie Basinski and that was all they needed in their squeak-through over San Diego. Darnell Wins Eleventh Bob Darnell held the Pads to eight hits for his 11th win against seven losses. He walked in San Diego's first run in the fourth and yielded doubles to Eddie Kazak and Ebba St. Claire in the eighth for the Pads other tally. Bob Garber (5-1) racked up his fourth win in a row for Holly wood. Ramon Mejias drove in two runs with a second inning homer and R. C. Stevens belted in two more on a pair of singles. Vancouver got all its tallies via the home run-solo blasts by Angelo Dagres, John Romano and Johnny Jorgensen. MNESCORES: Seattle pnn (KM) 500 5 T 2 San Francisco 100 011 inn 4 7 0 Fracchia.
