WILLIAM BRADY. M.D. Reader, should address inquiries to: William Brady, 263 El Camino. Beverly Hills, Calif. HOW MUCH IS A TESTIMONIAL WORTH? Sr. Brady- In the past two or three years more than 200 readers have re- ported that the use of the ear drops I recom mend for chronic run ning ear has cured em stopped the discharge in some cases after much treatment by specialists has failed. I was con sidering whether I should write a piece about it for this column. After all, the treatment is pretty simple and I knowj no more about chronic running ear and the proper treatment of the trou ble than any doctor knows. But now comes a letter from a medical reader who is an aurist (ear specialist), who writes: "Thank you for your advice on treating middle ear infec tions with the alcohol-boric acid formula. I have used it success fully in some long-standing cases." So here again is the info: In many cases of running ear the trouble has been relieved for a long time or perhaps per manently by: (1) ceasing the practice of keeping ear plugged with cotton, and instead leaving it always open to free ventilation; and . (2) dropping in the ear each night and morning two or three drops of a solution of ten grains of boric acid in one fluidounce of pure grain alcohol. Use a blunt medicine dropper and al ways warm the solution bv standing vial in hot water for a while before using. Instruments Aid In Learning To Fly Chicago (U.R) Fledgling pi lots may learn to fly by looking at instruments before they learn by watching the ground a com plete reversal of the usual pro cedures. The new project is being car ried out by the Institute of Avia tion at the University of Illinois and is designed to teach pilots to handle themselves in an emergency when sight of the ground is blotted out. Prof. Alex C. Williams Jr., head of the aviation psychology laboratory, said the purpose of the new method is to demon strate "whether it is possible to give basic instrument and con tact training so that in the same amount of flight time a student will be able both to pass the private pilot test and have some knowledge of proficiency in in strument flying. 4-H Club News Antelope Forestry Club , The Antelope 4-H forestry club went on a hike April 16. While on the hike some of the members collected specimens of forest shrubs and trees. They will press and mount them to take to the fair. Mr. Ragsdale showed the club how to scale logs. On the night of April 22 the club held a meeting at the home of Fred Jossy. The members dis cussed a hike - to be held on Christmas Tree farm near Azalea, Ore., on May 13 and 14. After the meeting Mrs. Jossy served refreshments. Fred Jossy, Reporter. poison OAK? Try a Bottle of ZEMAC0L Yon must bo satisfied or your money cheerfully refunded. Get a bottle .to day at WESTERN THRIFT. If your druggist will not pro vide the solution for you, per haps your family doctor will authorize it, but in any event do not use anything other than pure grain alcohol. I cannot fur- nish a prescription by mail. If one reader wrote to say he tried my somersaults and he has been almost incapacitated ever since, I'd probably drop the squawk into the chucker and go on with my scribbling, unless it happened to be Monday, Wednesday or Friday, in which case I'd fill my pipe and hie to the bowling green. But if fifty or a hundred read ers made similar complaints I'd probably quit recommending forward rolls as a daily routine for sedentary people. A single person may very likely exper ience some unpleasant conse quences if he or she attempts to roll without ' first studying the pamphlet The Somersaullauqua which I am glad to send on re quest if you provide stamped, self-addressed envelope. Once or twice, in fact, some one has re ported that he nearly broke his neck trying to do a forward roll after many years of false dignity and threatened to sue me for damages. Perhaps it was just a joker. At any rate I haven't been sued. I do warn readers how ever, that if they decide to roll they do so at their own peril. I recommend and personally practice the silly business, but you must understand I cannot prescribe anything by mail. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS Convenient Touch I am 44.
