Those were the main points, brought out , yesterday by Eu Lund, Portland,' presi dent of the Oregon Advertising clubi in' a talk to Kiwanis club members here. : v : "Consumers are filling their stomachs, not your, pocket books," Lund declared in stress ing that buyers are interested' in. their own advantages and not the problems and gain or benefit of the seller or adver tiser.' ' ' The merchant and 'advertiser have to " talk " honestly to the consumer and hrfve to talk with the consumer advantage in mind. People want to be im portant and want to-be Jlat tered, also, he said. . A seller should ask what is wrong and find out what is - stated, adding that ; there is something wrong or 1 a "seller would have more business.' ' r "This is a consumer society, using seller and advertiser as instruments," according ' to " Lund.' A seller just does what is' necessary to meet the demands of the consumer. He mentioned that good advertising brings a profitable relationship' among the seller, the advertising me dia and the consumer.
