Boy Arretted A , 17-year-old Evans Creek boy has been ar rested by sheriffs deputies on a cnarge of petty larceny, ac cording to records in the sher iff's office. Preceding the graduation ceremonies r a flight line exercise was held in honor of the new pilots and a formal review of 700 . aviation cadets and airmen, accompanied by a flyover of Lockheed T-33 jet trainers, passed in tribute to the graduates. :. Carson, Colo., with Com pany D of the 8th infantry di vision's 61st regiment as an am munition bearer: - ' MAKES JUMP - Pfc. Douglas Peters, son of Mrs. Maxine Vincent, Medford, recently made a parachute jump from a C-124 type aircraft, more popularly, known as' the "Globe master." All troopers of the 11th airborne division will eventual ly make a jump of this type, ac cording to the Army release which made the announcement. Pfc. Peters is a mail clerk in Company : E of the 188th air borne infantry regiment at Ft Campbell, Ky. AT FT. BELVOIR .t . Jimmie Lee: Smith, who voh unteered for - service with the Army after his graduation last May from Jacksonville High school, now is at Ft. Belvoir, Va attending an' engineers' school. He first went to Ft. Ord, Calif, ' for basic training and from there to Ft Leonard Wood near St Louis. He wrote in a recent letter to his grandfather, Roy G. Smith, Route 2, that his work in the Army is "valuable training for later life.'-' He also said he is singing with a choir and on week ends makes sight seeing trips to Washington, D.C., about 16 miles from his camp.
