Pfc. Douglas Peters, son of

recently made a parachute jump
from a C-124 type aircraft, more
popularly, known as' the "Globe
master." All troopers of the 11th
airborne division will eventual
ly make a jump of this type, ac
cording to the Army release
which made the announcement.

borne infantry regiment at Ft
Campbell, Ky.

Army after his graduation last
May from Jacksonville High
school, now is at Ft. Belvoir,
Va attending an' engineers'
school. He first went to Ft. Ord,

from there to Ft Leonard Wood
near St Louis. He wrote in a
recent letter to his grandfather,
Roy G. Smith, Route 2, that his
work in the Army is "valuable
training for later life.'-' He also
said he is singing with a choir
and on week ends makes sight
seeing trips to Washington, D.C.,
about 16 miles from his camp.
