In the first place it imperils a physician's standing in the profession and in the community to break into print even to chastise a so-and-so. In the next place, there is, after all, some foundation in fact- for what I teach say about the treatment of hernia and every doctor knows it. . Not more than 25 years ago I repeatedly asserted in this col umn that radical surgery was the only cure, for hernia (otherwise called rupture or breach).
