Pludwitski was chasing his attacker, who had stabbed him, when he collapsed. Other pedes trians captured the knife wielder. who was identified as Thomas Mica. Pludwihski was waiting on Mica in his second-hand clothing store, where the attack took place. High Prices Offered For Bureau Timber; Many Bids Received Multiple bids were receiyed for 12 tracts of timber offered for sale Thursday by the Med- f ord office of the Bureau of Land Management. The total offered for 16.000,000 board feet was $417,573.70, an average of $26.61 per thousand. All successful bids were above the appraised price in amounts varying from 1.7 percent to 104 per cent. Highest price offered lor Douglas fir was $20.50 per thousand feet by the A. C. Smith Lumber Co. for a tract of 1,- 250,000 board feet on upper Cow creek in Douglas county. Highest price bid for. pine was $40 per thousand for ponderosa pine and $45 per thousand for sugar pine by Puckett & Scherer on a tract cf 2,500,000 board feet south of Lincoln in Jackson county. High Bidders Listed High bidders were: A. C. Smith Lumber Ci., thre6 tracts totalling 3,854,000 board feet; Puckett & Scherer, one tract, 2,660,000 board feet; Kogap Lumber Co., one tract, 1,375,000 board feet; Magnolia Lumber Co., one tract, 1,076,000 board feet; S. H. & W. Lumber Co., one tract, 1.076,000 board feet; Bate Lumber Co., one tract, 2, 565,000 board feet; Joe Estre mado, one tract, 207,000 board feet; Wayne Ash, one tract, 293,000 board feet; Robert Dol lar Co., one tract, 1,046,000 , board feet; Hoot Owl Lumber Co., one tract, 80,000 board feet.
