Runaways Two bovs. 16 and 15 years of age, from Seattle and Tacoma. Wash., were beine held in the county jail Satur day as runaways, sheriff's dep uties reoorted. The two were picked up by a state bolice of ficer yesterday morning. Bicycle Taken Mrs. Aline G. Sutton told city police that her son's bicycle was stolen from the family residence, 915 West 12th st., during the noon hour on Friday. The bicycle was a maroon and ivory colored Schwinn model. Doctor Elected Dr. John L. Welch, who is associated with Doctors Clinic, Medford, has been elected to associate mem bership in the American College of Physicians by the board of regents at a recent meeting, ac cording to an announcement from the clinic. Trailer Owners A meeting of the Jackson county unit of the Organized Trailer Owners association has been scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p. m., at the Valley Center Trail er court, 3410 North Pacific highway, operated by Mr. and Mrs. Tom Moore. Elected C o 1 e Holmes was elected president of the Med f ord Professional Insurance Agents association during a luncheon meeting Friday at the Jackson hotel. Visit Here Mr. and Mrs. Roy Black, Whitney, Neb., left last week after visiting for about a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Gier, 2902 North Pa cific highway. Black, . an em ployee of the Chicago and North western railway, plans to retire in about three years and they expect to move then to the Rogue valley. With Agency Mrs. A. Thelma Lyter, formerly of Menlo Park, Calif., is now with the John C. Malone Real Estate agency at 25 North Ivy st- The agency until this week was located at 1238 North Riverside ave. The Lyters moved here in August when Mrs. Lyter's husband, Harry A. Lyter, and B. J. Garris, purchased the Van Dyke News agency, now known as the Rogue Valley News agency. The Lyters live at 1321 Locust st. Their two children, Jacqueline and David, are junior high school students. , Food Sale Alpha Lambda chapter, Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority, will sponsor . a baked food sale to be held Wednesday, Dec. 8, between the hours of 2 and 8 p.m., at the 'Home Appli ance store, 115 East Mam st. Homemade fruit cakes, pies, cookies and other food items will be on sale. The proceeds will be used to benefit the Crip pled Children's Hospital school at Eugene. Last year the Oregon chapters of the sorority, present ed over $4,000 to.the school Among the children -there from Jackson county who have bene fited are Jerome Haas and Toby Kimmy. both of Medford, and Douslas Decker of Central Point. Gasoline Taken Fred La vern Baker, 128 Keene way drive, reported to police that the gasoline cap an,d three gal lons of gasoline were stolen from his car parked at the sen ior high school Friday. Assigned Terry Maddox, sophomore student at the Uni versity of Oregon, has been as signed to be a cadet corporal in the Army reserve officers train ing corps at the university. He is a son of R. B. Maddox, route 2, box 2, Jacksonville, and he is a graduate of Medford High school. His major subject is ge ology. Son Born A son, James Alan, was born Dec. 2, to Mr. and Mrs. James Farmer, Ft. Worth, Tex. Mrs. Farmer is the former Miss Marie Wimmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Wimmer, 1115 West Second st. She is a Medford High school graduate. Mrs. Wim mer has been at Ft. Worth for the past month. She is expected to return here about Dec. 20. At Travel Service E 1 a i n e Clark is in charge of the Rogue Travel service offices at the Jackson hotel during the ab sence of George Lewis, operator of the service, who is on a two week vacation trip to Hawaii. Miss Clark has been associated with travel service work and will make reservations for those now making plans for tours. KPs Slaie Meetings Talisman lodge, Knights of Pythias, will meet at 8 p. m. Monday in the Pythian building to elect new. officers. The following Monday, Dec. 13, page rank will be con ferred, and on Dec. 20, the an nual Christmas party for all KPs and affiliated organizations will be held, starting with a pot luck dinner at 6:30 p. m., fol lowed by a program and dance. Newcomers Among recent newcomers to Medford are Mr. and Mrs. Jean Watkins, formerly of San Rafael, Calif. They have purchased the Holly court. They were en route to San Diego, Calif. Son Here Pvt. Bob Shep herd is in Medford to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shepherd, Saginaw drive. The young man, who attended the University of Oregon last year, entered the Army in September and is assigned to Ft. Ord, Calif., for basic training. He will leave Dec. 9 for the camp. TAYLOR 1 Services for Robert -Lee Tay lor, 86, who died Thursday, will be held in Conger-Morris chapel Monday at 3 p.m. with Holly Michael and Dolph Bills offici ating. Interment will be in Jack sonville cemetery. The deceased was born July 31, 1868, in Huntsville, Mo., and had lived in the Rogue valley since 1901, coming from Wall owa county in eastern Oregon, where he had lived for two years, coming from Boulder, Mont. On Nov. 27, 1894, in Boulder, Mont., he was married to Donna Bell, who .survives. The couple had observed their 60th wedding anniversary last Saturday. ! Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Goldie Bell Lind ley, Eugene, Ore.; three grand children and three great- grand children. Pallbearers will "be Wayne Kyker, R. L. Merritt, Milton Lindley, C. S. Eicher, George Howard and Harry Morrow. ARCHIE STEWART Archie Leander Stewart, 53, of 506 Union st., died at a local hospital on Friday. Funeral ser vices will be held at the Perl Funeral home on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. F. Wildon Colbough will officiate and interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. Mr. Stewart had been a Med ford resident for the past five years. He was born at Hooper, Colo., on Aug. 23, 1901 and was a camenter. He is survived by his wife,' Betty, -Medford, seven children: Edward, Korea; Mrs. .Judy Hill, Los Angeles; Jerry, Portland; and Earl, Donald, James and Richard, all Medford; one broth er, William, Prestone, Colo.; four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hume and Mrs. Grace Bradshaw, both of Colorado, Mrs. May Cornmie, New Mexico and Mrs. Minnie Lathum, Little Rock, Calif. BETTY EBINGER Services for Mrs. Enid "Betty" Ebinger, 39, who died Thurs day in Portland, will be held in Conger-Morris chapel Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. J. On April 16, 1949, in Portland, Ore., she was married to Douglas Ebing er, who survives.
