Dokkies Program FuhaiBur- kan Temple, Dramatic Order of the Knights of the Khorasseh, will present a half-hour program at 6 p.m. Thursday on KBES-TV regarding the Dokkies plans for assistance to spastic children. At Community Mrs. Tom MacLeod, 8 Willamette st., a dietitian at the Community hos pital, underwent major surgery there today. . Return Col. and Mrs. G. R. Owens, 22 North Berkeley way, returned this week from a two month trip to the east. They vis ited their son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Badger and family, Woodbury, N.J. They also visited at West Point, in North Carolina, and in Virginia. They returned via southern California. -License Charge Edward Ku- bli, Applegate, pleaded innocent yesterday in district court to a charge of failure to procure a dog license within the time pro vided, and trial was set for Nov. 24 at 2 p.m., according to court records. Kubli was released on his own recognizance. The charge was filed by Dee Jones, county dog control officer. ' Admit Guilt Two 17-year-old Ashland youths have admitted they broke a large plate glass window, valued at $70, at the Talent Cafe, owned by Miss Lyla Parker, according to Sheriff Howard Gault. No complaint has been signed against the pair, who have agreed to pay for the act of vandalism, which occurred the night of Oct. 31, Gault said. Promoted Wayne W. Straus, son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Straus, Merriman rd., recently won a merit promotion to ser geant in the U.S. Marine Corps, according to the Medford re cruiting office. His promotion came shortly after he became a corporal, and resulted from his being top man in a 30-member class in aviation radar repair at San Diego. He will be assigned to the aircraft fleet Marine force, Pacific, at El Toro, Calif., for transfer overseas this December. The sergeant" enlisted in the Marines in August, 1953. Sentenced Luther Thomas Poole, 40, of 810 Adams st., Med ford, has been fined $10 and court costs and sentenced to 20 days in the county jail on a cnarge oi petty larceny, accord ing to court records. The charge involved the theft of two 29-cent packages of sand wich meat from the Big-Y Super market. An ambulance brought : the youthful Fatemi, who was stabbed last March by a revenge seeking supporter of the Shah of Iran, to the shooting range. He walked unaided to the shooting post, where he was tied before the firing squad poured its bul lets into him. - ; Thus died one of the Shah's two most powerful arch enemies. The other, Mossadegh, was con victed on the same charges but got off lightly with a three-year sentence, because of his ad vanced age.
