V Bean-Pierce Wedding Held I n Ashland Cha pel Saiu rday Miss Marie 'Hildegard Pierce became the bride ot Norman Robert Bean Saturday, October 16 in a 2 o'clock afternoon cere money at the Ashland Mountain View chapel. The reception was held at the Church of Christ of Latter Day Salntt. Bishop Cordon Allred of Medford LDS church performed the ceremony. About 75 guests attended both the rites and the reception. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Hildegard Fierce, 1030 Sweet road, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bean of Phoenix are par ents of the bridegroom. The couple traveled south for their wedding trip and will make their home for the present at Lubbock, Tex., where the bridegroom is stationed with the Air Fores.. , Miss DoTOthy Bean, a sister of the bridegroom, was the maid of honor. Ronald Bean, a , brother of the bridegroom, , was best man and ushers . were Roy Madden and William Madden. The bride's waltz-length gown was of net over satin with lace and was designed with a close ly fitted bodice. . A crown' of lilies of the valley held her il lusion fingertip veil. Her flow ers were white carnations and red rosebuds in a colonial bou quet. The maid of honor also wore a waltz-length gown which was of orchid nylon net with match ing lace jacket. She carried colonial bouquet of white and orchid spider chysanthemuma and her headband was of match ing "net and orchid delphinium, The candlellghters wore sim ilar gowns of net over satin. Miss Rydberg's gown was pink and her headband and wristlet were of rosebuds., Miss Ingram wore blue and her headpiece and wrlslet were of delphinium. Altar baskets of white chry santhemums and candelabra dec orated the chapel. Mrs. Fred Phillips played the wedding marches on the organ and Vernal Goodrich sang ac companied by Mrs. John Smith. For her daughter's wedding the bride's mother wore a suit dress of grey blue faille with black accessories. Her corsage was of yellow rosebuds. . The 'bride's mother was dress ed in a blue grey suit with white accessories, and her flowers were of deep pink rosebuds. The bride's grandmother, Mrs. Marie Lang, wore a smoke grey cape with black accessories and light 'pink rosebud corsage. Out-of-town guests Included Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Untermann, curators of the Utah field house of natural history. At the reception Mrs. A. A. In gram cut the wedding cake and Mrs. Fred Bean, an aunt of the bridegroom, served the punch. Mrs. Scott Darby served ice cream, and Miss Myrna John ston took charge of the guest book. The bride is a graduate of Medford Senior high school and was employed by the Snider Dairy and Produce firm. The bridegroom is a Phoenix high school graduate. Officers Named By Association Election of officers was held at a recent meeting of the Alum nae association, Home Exten sion County committee. Mrs. Fred Middlebusher was elect ed president, Mrs. Leland Char ley, vice-president, and Mrs. Walter Ricks, secretary-treasurer. The association's goal, for the coming year, is to visit each of the 22 extension units of the county, in order to become bet ter acquainted with the exten sion program of today, A com mittee, with Mrs. A. T. Lathrop as chairman,) was appointed to compile the information, which is already collected, of the his tory of the home extension pro gram in Jackson county. Next meeting of the group will be in the third Monday of February, 1955, at the home of Mrs. Middlebusher, 1517 West Main street, Medford. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Clement, 552 Riverside drive, Gold Hill, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis J. Zimmer, route 4, box 30, Grants Pass. The wedding setting was ar ranged in rfront of the living room window, overlooking the Rogue river, and large baskets of varicolored chrysanthemums were used for decorations. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a dior blue acetate silk dress in princess style and her accessories were white. Her corsage was of gar denias. Mrs. Cecil Van Horn, the bride's sister, was matron of honor. Her afternoon dress was in a champagne shade and her I accessories navy blue. She. also wore a corsage of gardenias. Ward Cole, Portland, an uncle of the bridegroom was best man. The Rev. D. E. Millard per formed the ceremony and he and Mrs. Millard furnished the wedding music. The reception was held at the Clement home, the bride and bridegroom making the first cut of the wedding cake which was then served by Mrs. Cole, aunt Society to Hold , , General Session; Reports Planned A general meeting of Woman's Society of Christian Service, First Methodist church, is plan ned for Tuesday, October 26. A prayer circle at, 10:30 a.m. will open the session and a bus iness meeting will be held fol lowing that. A luncheon will be served at 12:30 p.m. Mrs. Everett Faber and Mrs. O. P. Taylor are in charge of the program which is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Both women attended the 4th assembly ot WSCS held at Milwaukee, Wise, last May. Mrs. Taylor went as a confer ence delegate from the WSCS and Mrs. Faber, who is secre tary of the western jurisdiction of the Wesleyan Service guild, represented the guild at the meeting. They will report on the assembly. Mrs. Harry L. Meyers and Mrs. J. Thomas Dixon are co chairmen of an annual bazaar to be given November 19 by the WSCS. In preparation for the bazaar an all-day work meeting will be held each Friday until the sale date. -4- Attend Opera Mrs. Lila Thomas and Mrs. R. W. The bride s mother wore a navy blue dress with white ac cessories and the bridegroom's mother was dressed in a teal blue dress with black accessor ies. Both wore corsages of gar denias. In addition to Mr. and Mrs. Cole and their daughter, Janet, those who came from a distance were Miss Harriet Kierleber, Portland, and Mr. and Mrs. Ir ving Robinson, Callahan, Calif. Mr. Robinson is an uncle of the bride. After a trip to Portland and the coast the couple will live at Grants Pass. The bridegroom attended Grants Pass High school and recently returned home after four years service in the Air Force. The bride has lived her entire life at Gold Hill.
