Society and Clubs ,'Wear If 4 Ways Many to Attend McKay-Gibbons Rites Saturday A large group of Medford friends of the Glenn A. Gibbons family will go to Roseburg to morrow to attend the wedding of the Gibbons' daughter, Vir ginia, to Harold McKay Jr. The wedding is set for four o'clock in the Roseburg Episcopal church. Miss Nancy Lageson and Miss Sherry Antony of this city will be bridesmaids for Miss Gib bons. Others from here who plan to attend include Dr. and Mrs. B. L. Lageson, Dr. and Mrs. Dwight Findley, Miss Jeanine and Jack Findley, Dr. and Mrs. A. Erin Merkel, Mr. and Mrs. Carl E. Wimberly Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Fitzhugh Brewer, Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Bender, Mr. and Mrs. Bayard Getchell, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Miksche and Mrs. Rob ert Hart. 4 Corps To Appear At Lily Festiva Biiss Heine's Junior corps will leave early Sunday morning for Brookings where they will par ticipate in the Brookings Lily festival. Nearly 80 members will make the trip, with parents pro viding transportation. At last week's classes the fol lowing promotions were made: Patricia Rector to colonel; Nor- alene Schell to lieutenant colo nel; Sharon Jackson, Pamela Jackson, Deidra Stewart to mas ter sergeant; Carolyn Foust to junior second lieutenant; Janice Atkins, Vivien De Weerd, Janet Swift, Colleen Drinkwater to sergeant. They are all in the big baton class. In the younger girls' group Renee Johnson and Lynne Dahl were promoted to junior second lieutenants; Barbara Hampel to junior sergeant and three-year-old mascot Arline Quitt to mas cot sergeant. In the drum section Bill and Paul Smith were made second lieutenants; Robert Farra, Rob ert Clancy and Mike Travis to master sergeants; Billy Foust and Edwin Arnold to sergeants. In the Phoenix class Jill Gast and Beverly Hild were made sec ond lieutenants; Sidney Yarnell, junior second lieutenant; Mau reen Brabbin, second lieutenant and Karen Bohls, sergeant. I Annual Masonic Picnic Announced for Sunday At Jackson Springs Medford lodge, A.F. and A.M., and all associated bodies will hold the annual picnic at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 13 at the Jack son Hot Springs picnic grounds. Coffee, punch and ice cream will be furnished by the Lodge groups. Those attending are to take their own picnic dinners. Roxy Ann court of Amaranth is in charge of games: Reames chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, will provide and serve punch and also ' supervise the swimming program. Heyday Tickets To Be On Sale A booth at the Greenwich Vil lage Art show, to be held Sun day, July 13, in the old city park, Medford, will advertise the coming Oregon Shakespear ean festival and the, annual Bard's Heyday, it was announced today by Mrs. Richard Finch, heyday chairman. The art show is to be given by Southern Ore gon Society of Artists. Tickets for the heyday, which will be held July 20 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Berthold Bar num, South Pacific highway, will be on sale at the booth. The heyday is given annually by Tudor guild, auxiliary organiza tion which promotes the annual Shakespearean festival, and is a large benefit party with a sup per followed by a program and entertainment provided by ac tors and directors of the festival. The general public is invited to both the art exhibit to be held in the park July 13 and the hey day. Hours for the art exhibit will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and artists of the society will not only display their paintings but will be at work during the afternoon. Officer Here First Lt. Wallace H. Woods is spending a 30-day leave in Med ford with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Woods, 1307 East Main street. Duplicate Club Holds Session Tuesday Night Mrs. Jean Hall and George Rode held top score among play ers who attended the weekly ses sion of Medford Duplicate Bridge club Tuesday night at the Medford hotel. The couple scored 65 points. Mrs. T. J. Fuson and Mrs. George Codding were second with 63, and Mrs. Alice Swanson and Mrs. Paul R. Hatton took third with 6OV2 points. Mrs. Frank R. Baker and Mr. Hatton were in fourth place with 56 points. ! Butte Falls Club Sets Picnic Tuesday Butte Falls Members of Butte Falls Garden club will entertain the Eagle Point Garden club at a picnic set for 12 noon, Tues day, July 15, in Butte Falls city park.. The three families spent some time at Diamond and Crater lakes. 74,608 Visit Museum Since Doors Opened Jacksonville Visitors in . th e number of 74,608 have register ed at the Jacksonville Museum since the doors were opened on July 9, 1950. - Figures for the two fiscal years, which ended Wednesday, were made public today by the curator, Mrs. Myrtle P. Lee who said visitation increased greatly in the second year. So far this spring and summer the number entering the museum has been particularly large on Sundays and the throngs have included thousands of tourists and other out-of-town people, according to the curator.
