Roy Helser, Portland Beaver hurler, is to be playing manager if he gets his release from the Beavers. Squads of the Pacific Coast loop were to have cut their rosters today. The Beavers have been over the player limit with nine or 10 pitchers on the club. The action on Helser's request for release was to be known sometime today. MEDFORDv-JJjeTRIEUNE Medford Takes 2nd Honors In Junior AAU Track Meet Grants Pass rolled up 92'4 tallies here Wednesday to win the junior AAU track meet. Medford thinclads finished sec ond with 84 points. The other four schools enter ed wound up far behind. Klam ath Falls scored 15'4, Ashland, 7Va, Eagle Point 4 and Phoenix 3. Medford held a 77 to 70U lead after 12 of the 14 events were recorded but Grants Pass took the first three places in the broad jump and second, third, fourth and fifth in the javelin to take the meet. In the two events Medford got two men in a three-way tie for fourth in the broad jump and Chap man won the javelin for Med ford. Ed Setzler was a two-event winner for Medford, in the shot put and low hurdles, and he was second in the 100-yard dash. Reagon of Grants Pass won the 100 and 220-yard races.
