March SI. 1U2 Asehenbrenner To Lead Methodist Church Campaign The Rev. E. J. Asehenbrenner, pastor of St Paul's Methodist church, Spokane, Wash., will be guest minister in a series of evangelistic services at First Methodist church, March 23 to 30. He will speak Sunday morning and evening at each week day at 7:45 p. m. Mr. Asehenbrenner will also instruct teams of lay men who will call on non-members to invite them into the fel lowship of the congregation. Mr. Asehenbrenner will also speak Saturday at 4 p. m. and Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of next week at 10 a. m. to min isters gathered at Medford from other participating churches in this area. The Medford center in one of 13 centers, represent ing about 250 Methodist churches in the northwest, which will carry on similar meetings dur ing the coming week. The mission is sponsored in Medford by the membership and evangelism committee of First Methodist church, Dr. E. G. Ray is chairman. Other committee chairmen leading In Medford are Mrs. J. S. Delamarter, Winona Lake, Ind., was main speaker, as the Oregon Youth convention of the Free Meth odist church opened at the Med ford church last night. John Beegle, bass soloist of Portland, and the "Forward" male quartet furnished special music. Herbert Hansen, Salem, is the song leader for the con vention. Program Told In addition to the annual busi ness session the program for to day included an address by Dr. Elvis E. Cochrane, discussion groups on Christian Leadership and "What We Believe and Why" and a skating party at the Rogue rink. The public is invited to the rally tonight at 7:45 p.m. when there will be a special program in addition to the address by Mr. Delamarter. The youth convention will con tinue through Sunday evening with a special rally being plan ned for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Dr. Cochrane will bring the main I address. Schnepper of the Seventh-day Adventist church, will speak over the KYJC "Chapel of the Air" program Sunday, March 23, at 9:30 a.m. on "The Measure of Our Re ligion." Lutherans Seek Mission Funds Sunday, March 23, will mark the beginning at St. Peter's Lu theran church of the Conquest for Christ collection for expan sion of the Lutheran Missouri synod mission fields. The synod has set a goal of $10,000,000 from its 5,000 con gregations throughout the world for this expansion. Of the amount $6,500,000 will go for pastor and teacher training and the rest for direct aid to the mission fields. Missionaries of the Every Con tinent Luthern church are now active on every continent, ac cording to Dr. Frederick S. Streufert, secretary of missions for the synod. In the last decade the church hasxsent men and women for the first time into Japan, the Philippines, New Guinea, Guatemala, Hawaii, Cuba and the Canal Zone. Lack of funds has prevented imme diate expansion at most of the recently organized foreign posts. Ray Harder is head of the col lection committee at St. Peter's. Tonight he will show the re lationship between "Divine Heal ing" and the work of trained, self-sacrificing physicians.
