"The Hart of Fashion" 22 South Crape Phone 2-8992 Pleyer-Jaquith Rites of Interest To Valley Friends Of interest here is news of the wedding of Miss Arlene Jaquith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Jaquith, Phoenix, Ariz., and Everette Pleyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Pleyer, route 2, box 276, Medford. The wedding took place May 27, at 8 p.m. in me uretnren church in Upland Lai. Dr. C. P. Haggard, president of Pacific Bible college, read the service, and the bride was given in marriage by her father. Mrs. Carl Hess furnished the wedding music. Vocal selections were given and a poem was read. For her wedding, the bride wore a princess styled slipper satin gown with bertha collar and yoke of French lace. It was fashioned with a train. Her long veil was held in place by a dutch bonnet edged with seed pearls. For her flowers she carried a purple-throated white orchid on a white Bible. Mrs. Floyd Crain, as matron of honor, wore a rose taffeta gown of the same design as that worn by the bride. Mrs. Crain's bouquet was of aquamarine carnations. Miss Eleanor Pleyer, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Lesta Clark were brides maids. They also wore gowns fashioned after the bridal gown Miss Pleyer's was yellow, and she carried lavender carnations. Mrs. Clark's gown was aqua' marine and she carried rose col ored carnations. Raymond Moore of California acted as best man. Wade Parker and Robert Lull. Medford. broth er-in-law of the bridegroom, were ushers. As the couple -recited their wedding vows, a recording was made on a tape recording. Can dles were lighted by the bride's nieces, Clairece, Joyce and Di- anne Crain. Their dresses were of apple green taffeta styled the same as the bride s gown. Evelyn Pleyer, sister of the bridegroom, was flower girl, She wore a white marquisette dress and carried a basket of white flowers. Present for the wedding were the parents and all brothers and 1 sistTs of both the bride and Dnaegroom. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Jaquith wore a black print dress with orchid corsage. Mrs, Pleyer, the bridegroom's mother, wore a navy blue dress with an orchid corsage. About 300 persons attended the wedding and reception held in the patio of Upland college. Miss Helen Moffatt 1 Becomes Bride of Vinton McMichael Among the many weddings held last week-end was that of Miss Helen Lorraine Moffat, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce W.' Moffat, 2178 Spring street, to Vinton Corydon McMichael Jr., son of Mrs. L. D. Hale, Placerville. Cal. The rites took place Sunday, June 11, at the First Christian church with the Rev. Holly Roy Jarvis officiat ing and Mr. Moffat giving his daughter in marriage. The bride's gown was of white organdy over taffeta and her veil was of nylon net. She car ried a nosegay of pink roses, Esther Reed daisies and dutch iris. Miss Shirley Lanette Mof fatt was her sister's maid-of-honor. She wore a country maid style frock of peach colored or gandy over white taffeta and carried a nosegay of daisies, lav ender sweet peas and pink roses. Miss Patricia F. Cook of Port land was bridesmaid. Her dress of pale green organdy over white taffeta matched that worn by the maid-of-honor and she also carried daisies, sweet peas and roses. Gordon Thomas Scott of Yreka, Cal., was best man for the bridegroom and ushers were Raymond Clair Penny and Or val Ekstrom, both of Yreka. Mrs. Ernest Conrad provided the wedding music. A reception for 75 guests fol lowed in the church parlor. Cut ting the wedding cake and pour ing were Mrs. Gene Tedrick, Mrs. Lewis Bish, Mrs. Ivan Wolfe, Mrs. Clarence Tedrick and Mrs. Oval McClanahan. Bouquets of garden flowers decorated the parlor. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Moffatt wore a gown of royal blue chiffon with a bou quet of pink moss roses and lav ender sweet peas. The newlyweds traveled along the California coast for their wedding trip and are at home at 300 Third street, apartment 4, in Yreka. Among the wedding guests were Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Shirley and Mrs. Lillian Moffatt, grand parents of the bride, Mrs. Flora Shirley, a great aunt and Mrs Don Greaves and daughter, cou sins, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Lawr ence, uncle and aunt of the bride from Stockton. Cal., Mrs. Irene Willenbrmk, Moreen Williams, Shirley Temple, Mrs. Otto Bur- meister, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Barnett and daughters, Lois and Charlotte, and Muss Zita Calkins, all of Yreka; Walter F. Heller Jr., Irene Gargaware of Ashland. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cook of Port land and William Lee Russey. The bride attended Southern Oregon college after graduating from Medford high school and received her junior certificate from the college this month. She is a member of Sigma Epsilon Pi. The bridegroom attended school in Yreka and later was a student at Southern Oregon col lege where he studied science and merchandising. He is now employed by Frosty Food Locker company of Yreka. Musicale Given At Bebb Studio Monday Evening An event of Monday night was the June musicale in which group of piano and voice pupils were presented by Mrs. Roberta Ward Bebb at her residence stu dio. With introductory program notes by Mrs. Bebb, the compo sitions by Brahms, Strauss, Dvorak, Massenet. Debussy, Grainger, Densmore, Firestone and Malotte were interpreted by Carolyn Shangle. D'Ann Beck. Duane Sherwood, Nancy Hamil ton, bugene Groves, Bill Hust, Jane Bash, Katherine Gott, Nancy Greaves. Anelda Lewis. Pat Berry. Enid McKee, Sharon Roberts, Ruth Lininger, Lloyd Bishop, Donald Anstead and Lee Mellish. The 70 guests present were most enthusiastic in their ap plause, and comments later. The pupils presented Mrs Bebb with a large white orchid, Miss Shangle and Miss Beck with Mrs. Bebb, received the guests. Refreshments were served at the conclusion of the program. Mrs, Pat Grant To Attend Wedding Mrs. Pat Grant, 517 Spencer avenue, left this morning for Portland where she will attend the wedding of her niece. Miss Betty Deaver, to Donald F. Sid dens. While in Portland she will visit her sister, Mrs. Stan Jacob- son and family. Meeker, married June 10 at First Methodist church. The bride is the former Joanne Wray Harrison, daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Ray Harrison, 719 West Fourth slrees, and Mr. Meeker is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Meeker, Henley, Ore. The couple will live in Klamath Falls. (Brainerd photo) and candelabra furnished church and reception decorations. The newly wedded couple made a wedding trip in South ern California. They will live in Kansas City, Mo. The bride holds a bachelor of arts degree from Upland college and a bachelor of religious edu cation degree from Pacific Bible college. The bridegroom attend ed Southern Oregon college and holds a bachelor's degree in the ology from Pacific Bible college. Joanne Harrison, William Meeker Wedded in Chapel The former Joanne Wray Har rison is one of the many June brides, her wedding to William D. Meeker, having been solemn ized in Wesley chapel of First Methodist church June 10. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harrson, 719 West Fourth street, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Meeker, Henley, Ore. The Rev. Meredith A. Groves read the 10:30 a.m. ceremony by candlelight and Mr. Harrison gave his daughter in marriage. Mrs. Richard Harrison sang "With This Ring I Thee Wed'' and Miss Myrna Hannaford was accompanist. For her wedding the bride wore a white wool gabardine suit with navy blue accessories and her flowers were a white or child with pink rosebuds. Miss Hannaford was maid-of-honor for the bride. She was attired in a beige suit with brown accessories and her flow ers were yellow carnations. Edward L. Young of Klamath Falls served as best man for the bridegroom. A reception for about 30 rel atives and close friends followed in the church parlor. Cutting the cake and pouring were Mrs, M. D. Borough. Mrs. C. L. Fra- ker. Mrs. A. L. EUingson and Mrs. Richard Harrison. Arrangements of delphinium daisies and Deonies formed floral background for the wed ding party and also decorated the church parlor. Mr. Meeker and his bride trav eled north for their honeymoon and will live in Klamath Falls. The bride was a member of the 1950 graduating class of Med ford high school. Here for the ceremony were the bridegroom s parents, his sister, Nora, a brother Dick Meeker and a cousin, David Meeker, all of Henley: H. A Harrison of Roseburg and Mrs. A. L. Ellington of Eugene. College Club Members Meet at Taylor Home; Scholarship Announced Mrs. G. O. MEDFORD (OHEOOrt) MAIL TRIBUNE- FTO Miss Sally Moffitt To Attend Session Of Hawaiian School Miss Sally Moffitt of Kings' highway will leave this week to attend summer school at the University of Hawaii. Miss Mof fitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde B. Moffitt. will make the trip with a group of fellow stu dents from Willamette univer sity, and they will travel by Pan-American clipper from San Francisco. There will be special activity planned in Hawaii for the Wil lamette university group be cause Miss Lellulu Kealoha, whose home is at Hilo, is also a student at Willamette. Miss Kealoha's father is Mayor James Kealoha of Hilo and the Kealoha family has arranged special entertainment for the visiting Willamette students. The group plans to visit the Parker ranch, the craters of Kil auea and Halemauman, the tree fern forest, the black sand beach, Kona coast coffee plan tations, the Hulikee palace and other places of interest, as well as attending summer classes at the University of Hawaii. Plan Breakfast Oak Grove Neighborhood club will hold the annual breakfast Tuesday, June 20 at 10 a. m. at the home of Mrs. V. T. Wilson, Janney lane. The breakfast will be served in the yard if the weather per mits. Those attending are asked to take table service.
