1st Christian Church Easter Services Set Dual morning worship services will be conducted at the First Christian church Easter Sunday. The first church service is scheduled at 9 a.m. with the choir presenting the Easier an them, "Christ is Risen." E. Run aid Rice will direct and Mrs. Ernest Conrad will be at the or gan. The sermon for the first service will be "When the Dawn Came." At 10 a.m. all departments of the Bible school will meet for their teaching sessions. Classes and teachers will be available for all age groups. The repeat service will be at 11 a.m. with the pastor speaking on "The Promise He Promised." The Sunday evening service will witness presentation of the Easter cantata, "Rabboni" start ing at 7:30. The Grand command ery, Knights Templar of Oregon, will attend and Grand Prelate, Walter O. Miss Elaine Kelley will sing a hymn and there will be recita tions. The primary class under the direction of Mrs. Betty Nied ermeyer will give recitations and songs- The church service will be conducted at 11 a.m. with a spec ial Easter service of music and an Easter sermon. Mrs. Vern Wilson will be pianist. Boy Scout News Ctntral Point Cub Scouts Officials of Cub scouts of Cen tral Point, the organizing com mittee and the den mothers met recently in the IOOF hall. Plans for promoting the new organiza tion were discussed. There is an urgent need for more women of the community to volunteer for den mothers, it was emphasized Mrs. Barnes announced her den will meet on Wednesdays. Mrs. Barnes resides on Beall lane and will have boys from that vi cinity in her den. Mrs. Young's den s first meeting was inurs day, April 6. Mrs. Barnes and Mrs. Young will assist each oth er with their den's organization, Mrs. Arnold's den will also meet on Wednesdays at her home, and all meetings will be held after school at the present. A 12-year-old boy was treated for a .22 caliber gunshot wound in his lung today after he was shot by a 13-year-old playmate for refusing to leave the older boy's home. The Grange Sams Valley Grange Sams Valley Grange met Sat urday night, April 1, with excel lent attendance. Assistant Coun ty Agent Earle Jossy showed colored slides of many different types of weds which infest the fields, gardens and roadsides in this county and gave methods of eradication and effective con trol. Ways and means committee announced next dance would be April 8. Home Economics chair man announced a potluck sup per would be held preceding the next regular meeting. April 15, which will celebrate the 25th an niversary of the organization. Lecturer announced that charter members would put on the pro gram. Every member is urgAd to attend and receive a piece of the large Grange birthday cake. Sup per will be served starting at 7 n.m. Sixteen members and candi dates from Roxy Anne Grange, headed bv their master I. E. Wolfe and supported by E. W. Gebhard, master of Central Point Gramze were visitors at last regular meeting March 18. As we were unable to ive the degree work that evening it was decided our team would go to Roxv Anne and nut on the third and fourth degrees Friday eve ning, April 21. During lecturers program an April fool skit was given by sev eral Grange ladies. Those hav ing birthdays in April were hon ored with a special cake. The day will begin with the "Gos pel Hour" Easter service over KM ED at 9 a.m. At 9:45 a.m. there will be a Sunday school rally with a goal of 700 present.
