T. 139 r mm . . in Medford Churches St. Mark's Episcopal Church Plans Morning Services Easter on Sunday St. Mark'i Episcopal church from the early service with the will observe Easter with tradi tional services, commencing with a Sunrise eucharist in the church at 6:30 a. m. with a full choral rendering by St- Mark's senior choir, under the direction of Roberta Ward Webb with Nell Beverly Taylor at the console In addition to Eyre's setting to , the holy communion and tne "traditional Easter hymns, the choir will present "Christ the Lord Is Risen Today," and for the offertory anthem, "King of Kings with Mrs. Katheryn Mor ris as soloist. Communion Service There will be no preaching Bt this service. At 0 a. m. family choral com munion will be held In a musical setting rendered by St. Mark's Girls choir, directed oy Mrs Stephen Nye and with Miss Gail McDuffee at the organ. The introit, "Christ the Lord Is Risen" will be sung, followed by the offertory anthem, "Gate way Carol." The rector will preach on "Resurrection and Life" At 11 a- m. the senior choir will repeat the musical setting Plan Easter Program ; For Phoenix Church ( Phoenix, Apr. 7 An Easter ; program will be presented by j the Phoenix Presbyterian Sun j day school Sunday, with each ' department taking part. Primary and junior students will be par ticularly featured. The program will be held in the recreation room of the Sunday school and all parents of the children are invited to at tend. The committee in charge of the program is Mrs. A. V. Thompson, Mrs. R. D. Thompson and Miss Beverly Wilson. It is atatcu Unit the program will bring the Easter story in a vivid manner. Following the Sunday school program the usual morning service will be held with the Easter message to be given by the Rev. E. J. Clark. There will be special Easter music by the choir and reception of new mem bers will be held. Anyone in the community not affiliated with some other church is invited to attend. Easter observances of the First Presbyterian church, Med ford. will start with a sunrise service at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, it was announced today. Through the courtesy of Miss Claire Han- ley, the service will be held at Hanley s butte, route 2, off the Jacksonville highway or off Ross lane. Groups wishing to attend the service are requested to meet at the Presbyterian church at a a.m. The service has been arranged by the combind youth groups of the church who will have as guests young people of the First Christian church. The service is open to the pub lic and groups of young people and adults from other churches not having services of their own are welcome to attend. Breakfast Planned Following the service, break. fast will be served for young people of the church. Through the courtesy nf Mr. and Mrs. A L. James of Rogue River Pack ing corporation, breakfast will be held in the cafeteria of the Rogue River cannery, Front street. Two morning church worship services are planned, the first at 9:30 and the second at 11 o'clock. Guest speaker will be Philip S. Hitchcock, Klamath Falls. Church Slates Communion Services Central Point, Apr. 7 An early morning communion ser vice will be held at 6:30 Easter at Community Bible church, at Central Point. The special pro gram will include a short mes sage by Rev. Floyd Pollock. The public is invited. The Sunday school will pre sent its annual Eastern program at 9:45 a.m. and the Easter mes sage will be preached at 11 a.m. by Pastor Rolf Hansen. Another communion service will take place at the close of the morn ing worship for the benefit of those unable to attend at the early hour. Youth services at 6:45 p.m. and the evangelistic service at 7:45 will conclude the Easter activities. A new sound system provid ing listening for mothers in the church nursery and also chimes in the church steeple have been installed recently by the young adult class of the Sunday school and will be in use Sunday. Baptist Choir Plans Cantata Sunday Eve The choir of the First Bap tist church will present an East er cantata, "The Mystery of Easter" at the 7:30 evening ser vice on Easter Sunday. The can tata tells the Easter story through use of a full choir, solos and men's and women's choruses. J. Robert Cochran directs the church choir with Mrs. Evelyn Graham at the organ. Soloists j will include Mrs. Fidelis Piatt Donn Piatt. S. T. Brannock, Fred Phillips. Lester Wilco Jr., and Boh Semon. The public is invited. Adventists Schedule Services on Sunday "The Unpardonable Sin" will be the subject of the sermon Sunday evening at 7:45 at the Adventist church, according to j Pastor O. E. Schnepper. Many have wondered what, this sin is which God cannot forgive, he said. Pastor Schnep per said he will tell just what it is and why God cannot forgive one who has committed this sin. The subject this evening is "The Mark of the Beast." The! Bible predicts a time coming ! when no man can buy or sell j save who has this "Mark." Some , have thought it to be the sign of i the "Hammer and Sickle" while others think it to be some labor I union label. i All are invited. the Chapel trio will sing and Igo and Arlene Brood.
