Oh, yes, then there Is the cecum (blind gut) lying two or three Inches below the ilio-cecal valve between small and large intestine or colon. Shall we pause here a while and consider the Interesting fact that the old timers called the cecum the typhlon and hence inflammation of the cecum was typhlitis? About the time Topsy was born typhlitis was the name a few of the more advanc ed doctors applied to what the old timers called "inflammation of the bowels" Topsy was my first and only horse, a beautiful white-faced sorrel oh, oh, there I go again off on a wistful dream of the golden days of dire poverty when I scolded my first and but I'm young yet my wife for covering her eyes when we were out for a drive and Topsy pampered with oats and kindness, playfully kicked up her heels ... a little later the term universally used in stead of typhlitis was appendi citis. Now let us resume the tour. The remainder of the journey is less exciting, for here nothing happens. Just a climb of a foot or less up the ascend ing colon, around the turn un der the liver, then straight west under the epigastrium and things, around the splenic flex ure, and down, down . . . but who cares? The rectum is normally empty at all other times. qt'ESTIONS & ANSWERS V-l-T-K Spells Youth My Itltlo boy ajied 8 complains constantly of beinR tired and al though our doctor does not find any thing wrong with him, It worries me.
