Schrein have arrived at Camp Wolters, Tex., for basic infantry training. Capt. and Mrs. Kenneth Ed wards of Chandler, Ariz., and S'Sgt. and Mrs. A. K. Morse of Douglas, : Ariz., had a reunion in Arizona last week-end. Pvt. Volney Brock has been graduated from the advanced in fantry and Browning automatic school at Oceanside, Calif., and is at the marine sea school at San Diego. Mary L. Busch is now employed at a defense job at Spokane air technical service command. First Lt. Max Hendon, Rich ard Frederick Foster,- and Ran son Webster have received hon orable discharges from the serv ice. Definite proof of the death of Lt. Maurice J. Sample, reported killed overseas last September but not positively known by other American fliers on the mis sion to be dead, has been re ceived. Two other crew mem bers, German prisoners since then, have returned to this coun try with word of his death. Awards received by local men and announced this week in clude the bronze stars given to Cpl. Jack Bickler in Germany, Lt. Col. Fred E. Rankin at Man ila, Tech. Sgt. Benjamin F. Sparks in the Philippines, Sgt. Frank J. Hayner, topographic engineer in the air corps in In dia, and Cpl. Alfred R. Mercer, with a bomb disposal squad in France. Sgt. Charles L. Devlne received the bronze star and two battle stars In the Philippines. First Lt. Lanse Pitts was pre sented the air medal for flights in the southwest Pacific area, and Pfc. Kenneth E.
