Gould. 1318 West Main street, on a 21-day fur lough. Gould Just recently re turned from New Guinea and Australia where he has been serving for the past three years with the infantry. Pfc. Gould said he found the Australians very friendly and plans to re turn for a longer visit after the war. Wall Street- New York, May 10 U.PJ Selling pressure increased on the stock market today. Prices had their worst break since March 26 on increased volume. Two reasons stood out for the selling. The top one was the in dication as expressed by Secre tary Morgenthau that the admin istration will fight any proposals for general tax relief at the present time. The second, losing in favor, was that the market was entitled toa drop at this time to consolidate the recent gains. Closing preliminary Dow Jones averages: Industrial 163.17, off 2.07; Rail 54.70, off 0.81; Utility 30.43 off 0.28; and 63 stocks 61.03, off 0.78. Sales increased to 1,810,000 shares from 1,490,000 yesterday.
