Jr. Tonight at the Holly theatre is the season's greatest enter tainment event the Jackson county Shrine's 'giant benefit show to raise funds for the Shrine's crippled children's hos pital, Portland. Through cooper ation of the Leverette Interstate Theatres and various major film companies an outstanding pro gram of stage and screen enter tainment has been arranged. On the stage in person will be Phil Carlin, Jr., ten-year-old Portland prodigy, who sold $1,000,000 worth of War Bonds In the last bond drive. Phil Is an accomplished organist, and his Hammond electric organ was shipped by express from Port land for this presentation. Marilyn May, noted dance art ist, will be seen In her interpre tation of the Rhumba, and Prim itive Worship dances. Medford high school band will lead a pa rade through the main business section before the show and will aroear at the theatre. The Jack- con County Shrine Patrol not only will parade with the high school band but act as ushers at this gala event The screen program consists of a selected group of featur ettes reviewing stage favorites and tunes of the gay nineties nd featuring Eddie Cantor and Al Jolson, with none other than the Marx brothers In their funni est comedy-feature, "The Big Store" for the grand finale. The Holly doors will open at 7:30 tonight All seats are priced at $1.00, with all proceeds going to the Shrine Hospital, Portland, for the help and cure of thou sands of unfortunate crippled children. . McLeod MeLeod, April 26 Miss Nancy Ruth Baum and Miss Jane c. Jones of Glendale, Calif., have returned to their homes after a brief visit with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Casey. Miss Baum Is the nice of Mrs. Casey. A surprise dinner party was given to Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Grieve at their home, April 14: in honor of their 21st wedding anniversary. M ontgomery Ward 1 Speakers Club Is Organized As Part Of Junior Chamber Medford Junior Chamber of Commerce held a special meet ing in the library of the USO Wednesday night for the purpose of organizing a speakers club. The special project! was organ ized under direction of Vice President Don Foote and per sonnel chairman Dale Stephen son. Officers elected for a three months period were Jack Dan nen, president, Stephenson, vice president, and Robert Schenck, secretary-treasurer. George Da vis will be topic master for next Wednesday's meeting. At next Tuesday's meeting In the chamber of commerce build ing Jack Fitzgerald will give a five minute talk on the San Francisco peace conference and George Davis will speak on the Dumbarton Oaks peace plan.
