Among the players chosen, Jimmy Collins, former Boston Red Sox third baseman, and Roger Bresnahan, New York Giant catcher who died recently, were on the list of candidates of the Baseball Writers association, but both failed to receive the necessary 75 per cent majority. The others named were Hugh Jennines, shortstop and manaeer of the Detroit Tigers: Uncle Wil- bert Robinson, catcher for the old Baltimore Orioles and late manager of the Brooklyn Dodg ers; Dan Broutners, uetron out fielder and one of the games finest hitters: Fred Clark, out fielder and manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
