Nealon of Table Rock of marriage of their second daugh ter, Janice, to Dean C. Inglis, United States navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Inglis of Birming ham. Ala. The wedding was solemnized Sunday, March 18, at 2:30 o'clock in St. James Episcopal church of Oakland, Cal., by the Rev. W. H. G. Battershili. The bride, who was attended by Mrs. N. W. Peterson of Oak land, wore for the occasion a street length dress of bride's blue, a Juliet cap and shoulder veil of oale blue with navy ac cessories. She carried white orchids on a white prayer book. Lieut. J. A. Wickland, Jr., Unit ed States army, of Oakland, was Mr. Inglis' best man. Following the wedding Mr. and Mrs. George Linnton, par ents of the matron of honor entertained with a reception for the bridal party and friends at their Oakland home. The couple left after the reception for a short honeymoon at Monterey and Carmel. They arrived in Medford Monday to visit the bride's parents and are now en route to Birmingham, Ala where they will be guests of the bridegroom's parents until he re- potta to Jacksonville. Florida. Mrs. Inglis is a member of one of the valley oldest families. She graduated from the Central Point high school and attended Oregon State college, where she was affiliated with Delta Zeta sorority. She left college soon after the United States entered the war to accept a civil service appointment with the navy at Astoria, where she met Mr, Inglis. From Astoria she was transferred by the navy to Oak land, Calif. Mr. Inglis very recently re turned to California from com pletion of 30 months' service in the Pacific theatre. He is a gun ner's mate third class In the air department of the navy and has been assigned to the air base at Jacksonville, Fin., for addi tional schooling and the couple will reside there. Students Return To School Today University of Oregon and Oregon State college students are leaving today to return to their studies after spending spring vacation at their homes in the valley. Among those returning are Miss Dolores Ray, Miss Betty Kay, Miss Joyce Niedermeyer and Miss LaRene Thompson, all students at the Univeisity of Oregon, Eugene. Wednesday Club Plans Guest Day Plans have been made by Wednesday Study club members for tho annual Guest Day which will be held next Wednesday afternoon at the Girls' Commu nity club at 2:30 o'clock. In charge of the affair Is a committee headed by Mrs. H. L. Brown and with Mrs. F. K. Deuel, Mrs. Dolph Phlpps, Mrs Frances Cochran and Mrs. t. Iverson as members. April 1, 11451 Mis Dorothy Gill Married Recently To John Lindstrom ' At a candlelight ceremony held at the home of the groom's parents in San Mateo, March 17, Miss Dorothy LaVerne Gill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Gill, 122 Cottage street, be came the bride of Robert F. Lindstrom, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Lindstrom. The service was read at eight o'clock In the evening by the Rev. John Wilkins of the Bur llngame Methodist church. The ivy and flower-banked fireplace, flanked by gold candelabra and arrangements of white calla lilies, pink and white snapdrag ons and white stock, formed a beautiful setting for the bridal party. Mr. Gill gave his daughter in marriage. For the wedding she wore a pink crepe afternoon frock with a pink flowered hat and carried a white prayer book with a marker of butterfly orch ids. Her attendant, Miss Lillian Retis of San Mateo, had chosen a powder blue ensemble and car ried a bouauet of orchids. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Gill wore a gown of navy blue with accents of pink and the bridegroom's mother was in royal blue crepe with sequin trim. Both wore orchid corsages Violin selections were given by Elmer H. Young during the ceremony and Mrs. Young play ed the wedding march. A reception was held, with the bride cutting the first slice of cake. A touch of sentiment was added by the fact that the same decoration topped the three tiered wedding cake which had been used for the wedding re ceptions of the bridegroom s par ents and his sister. Mr. Lindstrom and his bride spent the week-end In San Fran cisco following the wedding and this month will go to Salt Lake City where the groom will par ticipate In the national bowling tournament. Mrs. Lindstrom, well known here, was educated in the Med ford schools and graduated from senior high school. For the past eight months she has been con nected with the California Flow er Shippers In San Mateo. The groom was graduated from the Burllngame high school; for three years was with the Ham mond Aircraft company of Call fornia and Is now in business with his father. The Lindstroms are long-time residents of the pennsula district. Among the wedding guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. Harold Babb of San Jose, former Med ford residents, and Miss Dorothy McArthur of San Francisco, long time friends of the Gill family. Council To Hold Final Meeting Final meeting this year of the Parent-Teacher association City Council will be held Tuesday. April 3, at the home of Mrs. Ivan Davles, Box 127. Spring street. Dessert will be served at 1 p.m. Election and installation ot offi cers will be held, and a plant sale will also be featured. Those attending are reminded to bring plants to the meeting. Members of the Roosevelt school PTA will be hostesses. Carler-Bralner'd Rites Take Place In Florida Church An event of March 22 In of Miss Anne Carter of Medford to David W. Brainerd, Grants Pass, United States navy. The bride la the daughter of Mrs. Frances Carter, 18 Hawthorne street, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Phillip A. Brainerd of Grants Pass. The double-ring service was read at 7 o'clock by the Rev. Charles O. Trayer at Christ Episcopal church, Pensacola. Miss Carter's wedding costume was a street-length white frock worn with a small white hat, a shoulder-length veil and long white gloves. She carried a prayer book with rosebuds and her corsage was of white carna tions. Attendants for the couple were Lt. and Mrs. Harold R. Hartzell, both of Medford. Mrs. Hartzell, the former Beulah Stephenson, wore a light blue dress with black accessories. A wedding dinner followed the service. Mrs. Brainerd attended the Grants Pass high school and later graduated from St. Helen's Hall in Portland. Last fall she was a student at the College of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. The groom, photographer's mate second class in the navy, recent ly returned to this country after extended overseas duty with the savy as an aerial photogra pher. He' Is a graduate of the Grants Pass high school and was trained at navy schools in Pensa cola and Washington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Brainerd will reside at Pensacola while the groom is stationed at the naval base there. Officers Present Meeting Reports For PAR Chapter Reports of the recent state board meeting at Salem of the Daughters of the American Revolution were given at the meeting of Crater Lake chapter held March 24 at the home of Mrs. R. E. Green on Park street. The meeting followed a lunch eon. Mrs. Bert Lowry, state regent, and Mrs. Frances Cochran, state corresponding secretary, pre sented the reports. Winning of the annual good citizenship award by Miss Betty Southwlck of Lebanon was announced and Mrs. Lowry also reported that Miss Frances Irene Lee, Chinese cadet nurse sponsored by the state society who received a scholarship last year at Emman uel Hospital, Portland, spoke at the meeting. At the luncheon covers were laid for 24, three guests present being Mrs. Catherine Wait, Mrs. Maud Maasdam and Mrs. D. O Hood. Mrs. Ralph Spencer and Mrs. Frances Cochran were as sisting hostesses. Mrs. F. J. Newman will be hostess for the April meeting of the group, entertaining at the home of Mrs. W. H. Relchstein, 7 Glen Oak Court. 1 Jacksonville Students Hold Skating Party Students of the Jacksonville high school gave a skating part at the Medford armory Monday night. Eighty attended. Chapters To Honor Grand Officer Eastern Stars ot the valley will be engaged this week with activities associated with the visit here ot Mrs. Hazel Foster, Prlneville. worthy grand matron of the Order of Eastern Star for Oregon. Mrs. Foster will attend a dist rict meeting of Reames and Adarel chapters at the Masonic hall here Wednesday night at eight o'clock and Thursday af ternoon will be honored at a tea given by these two chapters. The tea will be at the home of Mrs. Ernest Gilstrap, 35 Geneva street, from two to four o'clock, and all Eastern Star members are extended a cordial Invitation to attend. Friday afternoon Nevlta chap ter of Central .Point and Alpha of Ashland will entertain at a Officers Honored At Dinner Parties Given Last Week Two dinner parties given this last week honored Lt. and Mrs. Frederick J. McGovern and Lt Roy Holquist. Lt. McGovern sta tioned at the Medford air base for the past 13 months, is leav lng Monday to report for an overseas assignment and Lt. Hol quist, formerly stationed at the Medford base and now at San Francisco, was here on leave. Tuesday evening Mr. and Mrs O. A. Eden entertained at their home, 211 Genesee street, in celebration of Lt. McGovern's birthday anniversary. Other guests were Mrs. McGovern, Miss Margaret Ruth Bolton ana Lt. Holquist. Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Schuler entertained at a dinner for the McGoverns and Lt. Holquit, 12 guests being present. Bridge-Luncheon Given Saturday By Mrs. Moore Mrs. Donald E. Moore was hostess for a bridge luncheon given the afternoon of March 24 at the Officers' Outpost. Guests for the most part were members ot the Little Theater Group wh" worked with Mrs. Moore during the recent production of the play "Deadlier Than the Male" of which Mrs. Moore was assist ant director. At bridge prizes went to Miss Virginia Hammond for hljh score, to Mrs. W. Garland Jones for second and to Mrs. Stanley Brewer for low. Twenty guests attended. Circle in Charge Society Meeting Members of Just Folks circle of the Methodist church were hostesses Tuesday for the home coming meeting of the Women's Society of Christian Service held at the church. After a pot luck luncheon Loyalty circle members presented a playlet "Three Lives". Mrs. Harry Myers, president, conducted a business meeting, with Mrs. L. C. Kidby leading worship service. A Lenten of fering was taken. As tha closing number Lucile Schoppert sang a solo. Preceding the meeting a no-host dinner will be given at the Plaza Hotel In Ashland Any member of the order is in vited to attend and reservations are to be made by Thursday with Mrs. Ray Ciary of Ashland or Mrs. Hensley Holt of Med ford. Mrs. Foster is visiting the Grants Pass chapter Monday and is scheduled to be in Klam ath Falls next Tuesday. Prospect Women Are Entertained At Two Parties Prospect Mrs. Elmer Clem ens and Mrs. Floyd Kelley were hostesses for a bridge-luncheon at the home of the former, March 21. Covers were placed for Mrs. Earl Ulrich, Mrs. Ed mund W. Pease, Mrs. E. E. Fraedrick Jr., Mrs. Marion Car ter, Mrs. Mary E. Grieve, Mrs Wallace Dinkcns, Mrs. Clemens and Mrs. Kelley. Prize for high score in bridge was won by Mrs. Fraedrick. Mrs. Rueben Moore enter tained her club with a luncheon and afternoon party at her home, March 28. Place cards were arranged at the luncheon table that was prettily decor ated in the Easter motif, for Mrs. Elmer Clemens, Mrs. Chauncey Arant, Mrs. David Neville, Mrs. Glenn Fairchild, Mrs. Floyd Kelley, Mrs. Eldon Bean and daughter, Eldonna, and Mrs. Moore. Following the business meeting, the afternoon was spent with needlework.
