Society and CLUBS Epsilon Chapter Initiation Held At Last Meeting Two new members were ad mitted Into Epsilon chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma at the reg ular meeting held at the Girls' Community club the afternoon of March 17. The .Initiation ritual was presented by Miss Ethel Reid and a committee for Miss Georgiana Hussong of Eagle Point and Miss M. Clark of Grants Pass. Mrs. Maybelle Klemm, pro gram chairman, introduced Mrs. Ruth MacCallister of Ashland who gave a review of Delta Kap pa Gamma Bulletin and Miss Delie Whisenant, president, who gave an entertaining account of a trip to Europe during whlcn she witnessed one of the last performances of the famous Pas sion play at Oberammergou. Pictures and souvenirs added to the interest of the talk. Spring blossoms decorated the club rooms and the tables from which Mrs. George Sands and ner committee of hostesses served refreshments. Next meeting of the chapter will be April 21. 1 Classmates Plan Birthday Party A birthday party, planned entirely by classmates, was held last Saturday for Georgie K. Baker, who celebrated her 11th anniversary. The surprise gath ering was held at Miss Baker's home, 1122 West Fourth street The entertainment' committee consisted of Janet Blum, Sally Baxter and Fidelia Boone. Food committee members were Bever ly Hopson and Sally Baxter. Entertainment consisted of games with prizes, singing and tap dancing featuring four-year-old Shirley Ann Cook. Those present were DeLorls Smylle, Marlene Moulton, Max ine Falwell, Darlene Frohreich. Donna Rainey, Murlene Jacobs. Sweeney, Central Point high way, returned this past week from their winter home in Car- mel, Calif., where they cpent the past few months. Another visitor was their gTandson, Lt. Ralph C. Day, United States navy, nd Mrs. Day. Lt. Day arrived by plane from Pearl Harbor and then flew to St. Simon, Ga. The off i cer, a radar expert, taught at Pearl Harbor the past year and will instruct now at St. Simon. Mrs. R. C. Day and son, Rob ert of Portland are in Medford this week-end to spend Easter with Dr. and Mrs. Sweeney. Program On Bulbs Planned By Club A program on bulbs will be given for Medford Garden club members at a meeting Thursday of this week. The morning ses sion will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Girls' Community club and at the afternoon session at two o'clock Mrs. L. G. Gentner will speak on the control of Insect pests in flower and vegetable gardens. Members attending are asked to bring their favorite seed and flower catalogs and those attend ing the morning session are to bring a sack lunch. Hostesses for the social hour will be Mrs. D. R.
