Post Bail Olaf Redahl, 84, Jailed Tuesday on a drunkenness charge was released after post ing $10 bail today. Rudon D. Seegtneller, 32, also posted $10 bail for the same offense. To Merced City Superin tendent Frank H. Rogers went to Merced, Calif., early this week and will return to his duties here Friday or Saturday. His son, First Lt. Frank H. Rogers, Jr., AAF, Is stationed at the army airbase there after returning from service overseas some time ago. Home from School Betty Whittle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V7. D. Whittle is visiting her parents in Ashland and her sis ter, Margaret Whittle, who lives at 32 Mistletoe. She arrived Sun day evening from Eugene where she is a freshman at the Univer sity of Oregon and will be here the rest of this week or longer. Accident.. The Jackson and Oak street intersection was the scene of en automobile accident Tuesday morning, when cars op erated by Dr. Bert R. Elliott, route 2, and T. Kant, 730 Oak street collided, according to an accident report filed later yes terday. The accident occurred when Dr. Elliott passed the Kant car which made a sudden left turn the report said. Damage re ported to Elliott's car was esti mated at $30. Slightly Injured Tony S. Caruso, Portland, was slightly Injured Tuesday afternoon as a result of an automobile accident on Highway 99 about eight miles south of Grants Pass, according to an accident report on file to day. Caruso stated that he drove his truck-trailer into the ditch to avoid a headon collision with an automobile operated by Ed ward O. Monaghan of Salem. To Visit Son Mrs. Joseph Earley plans to leave for Los Angeles tomorrow where she will visit her son, TSgt. Joe E Earley, AAF, stationed at Santa Ana army air base. She will be gone for about a week. Sgt. Earley, stationed with the 8th fighter command in England for 28 months, returned to the states recently. Traffic Violations DarreH W. Favor was fined $10 in local court yesterday for violation of the basic rule. The Van Dyke News and Medford Glass com pany posted $1 ball for over- parking vehicles In 15 minute zones. Harry R. Stauffer was fined $9 suspended for parking in an alley, and Betty Anne Con- soy paid a fine of $2.50 for double parking. Wae To Seattle Gynell Pow ell, technician 5th grade in the Wac, has returned to Seattle aft er an eight day visit at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mayme Botts, 312 S. Central avenue. Formerly, employed in the forest service here, T9 Powell joined the corps In August 1943. She is a secretary, assigned to the Seattle port of embarkation. A brother, Herbert Botts, is a pris oner of war in Germany. Back To Duty After a nine day furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Rindt, 1321 Locus street, Pvt. Robert Rlndt left Monday night by United Air Lines for Los An geles. He is due to report today to Fort Ord, Calif., for reassign ment. Rindt was previously sta tioned at Camp Roberts, Calif. A graduate of Medford high school, class of 35, he was also an Eagle Scout and a troop lead er here. He attended SOCE at Ashland some time ago. Receives Medal T. Sgt. Sam uel P. Hamilton, with the AAF in the European theater of war, has been awarded the air medal and an oak leaf cluster, rela tives state. Anna Coleman and Mary Hurst will assist the hostess. Sheriff Returns Sheriff Syd L Brown, who has been 111 for several weeks, has returned to his desk in the sheriff's office. The sheriff was in Sacred Heart hospital for a few days for a physical check-up and has been recuperating at his home for some time. . Daughter Born Lt. and Mrs. Robert Squires are the parents of a daughter, their first child, born yesterday in Swedish hos pital, Seattle. The child, who weighed six pounds and nine ounces at birth, has been named Stephanie Elaine. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. V. D. Brophy, 749 West Fourteenth street, Medford, and Mr. and Mrs. George Squires, Pasadena, Calif. D. Brophy, Medford, is the great-grandfather. Mrs. Squires, the former Elaine Brophy, is well known in the valley. Lt, Squires is stationed at Seattle naval base. Commissioned Herbert L. Edwards, the son of Mm. R. L. Edward, im Ha van street, Is home on leave after graduating irom the AAF bom bardier achnnl at nitf SraHna ' Tex., and being commissioned a -second lieutenant. Lt. Ed wards, who graduated from Medford hieh achnnl nHfh th class of 1943, has been in the army 17 months. While In high school he won a varsity letter in basketball. Lt.
