I i EIGHT MEPFOHP MAIL TBIBPNE Wednidy. fab. 14. 1948 Your Health and Its Care By DR. WILLIAM BRADY. M. D. Raadari iheuld addrm Inquiries tot Or. William Brady 265 El Camlno. Bawlr Hllli. CalU. BEWARE DO This doctor claim he has made a change in the fluid used in the injection treatment of hernia, pi Lei and varicose veins so that there will be no r e s u ltlng ulcers. Please advise. (Mrs. K.R.F.) With her in quiry Mrs. F. sends pages from circu lar or bro chure evident ly used by the "doctor" to Brady get customers. In it be quotes me (without my knowledge or consent but then, charalatans think nothing of pirating on anybody's good name) as com mending chemical obliteration (the injection treatment) for ev ery sufferer from varicose veins. I do commend the method but I warn you at the same time that it is reasonably safe only in the hands of a reliable phy sician or surgeon. I particularly warn you against submitting to such treatment at the hands ot a self-recommended quack and by quack I mean what Webster defines as a quack: A boastful pretender to medical skill. A boastful pretender spends a con siderable share of the take tell ing the gullible portion of the population how skillful he is in treating this and that he tells 'em In circulars, brochures, radio spiels, newspaper ads, phony "lectures" and he has to keep en telling 'em, for he knows that if he stops blowing his own born his. racket soon peters out, be cause, of course, he hasn't enough satisfied customers to keep him busy you know or should know that it is the word of mouth commendation or ad vertising of the real doctor that builds his practice and his repu tation. His satisfied patients re fer their relatives and friends , to him. ' . Now this charlatan who pre tends he has discovered a trick or twist by which the chemical or medicine he injects will, say. shrink or shrivel or obliterate the varicose vein but without "Irish Eyes Are Dr. -V VfCL; fat M KB ' m J' Dick Haymes, June Haver' and Monty Woolley are starring In Damon Runyon's "Irish Eyes Are Smiling" in beautiful tech nicolor with Anthony Qulnn, Beverly Whitney and Maxle Ros enbloom. POLES IN Li REJECT DECISION London, Feb. 14 (U.R) The London Polish government, .as bad been anticipated, announced last night that it rejects com pletely the Big Three decision on Poland. After a lengthy cabinet meet ing the London government an nounced that the decision of the Crimea conference "cannot be recognized by the Polish govern mcnt and cannot bind the Polish nation." The London statement said Poor Digestion? Headachy? aa Sour or Upset? Tired-Listless? Do you feel headachy and ttpaet due to poorly digested food? To (eel cheerful and happy again your food must be digested properly. Kach day, N ature must produce about two pints of a vital digestive iulee to btlp digest your food. If Nature falls, your food may remain undigested leaving you headachy and irritable. Therefore, you must Increase the (low of this digestive Juice. Carter's Utile Liver mis increase this flow quickly ollen la aa Utile aa (0 minute. And, you're on the road to feeling batter. Don't depend on artificial aids to Counteract Indigestion- when Carter's Little Liver Pills aid digestion attar Na ture's own order. Take Carter's Little Liver Fills as directed. Get (ham at any drugator. Unl? Sit, CTOR DECOY the (Implied) risk of causing varicose ulcer. In the first place, there is no such risk involved in. the .injection treatment of varicose veins, in the hands of a reliable, competent physician or surgeon on the contrary, this treatment of the veins pro motes healing of varicose ulcer in many instances. Incidentally, the "doctor" who attempted to lure the prospect by- that quacklsh Inducement seems to be a near-doctor, per haps a phony doctor, at any rate he is not a Doctor of Medicine his name Is not In the blue book which gives the names of all legally qualified M.D.'s in the United States and Canada. He uses only the non-committal or furtive title "Dr. Richard Roe" which may mean that he is a veterinary or goodness knows what My advice to Mrs. K. R. F. Is, consult a physician of stand ing in your community for in jection treatment ot varicose vein or varicose ulcer.
