The Gray Mask, unidentified wrestling sensation from Holly wood, will be up against one of the cleverest opponents he has , been called upon to face when he meets Ernie Filuso In the top main event at Mcdford ar mory tonight. All of the Mask's foes to date have tried to "slug it out" with him but Piluso is one of the bestslegltimate grap plers now on the coast and plans to use his speed and skill to up set the winning streak of the hooded one. piluso will have everything to gain and nothing to lose so far as his mat reputation goes in this match. If he can win, 'he will be able to demand top money in the coast's leading wrestling circles but if he loses he will be Just number eight on. the. Mask's list of Medford opponents. . Pete Belcastro, the Weed Assassin, will face rugged Tex Porter in the four round middle event. Belcastro was placed in the secondary position when he couldn't make up his mind to meet the Mask. ' The opening bout, which goes to the mat at 8:30, promises as much fireworks as either of the other matches. Colorful Bull dog Jackson who is seeking a match with the Mask, will meet Earl Malone in the three round go. Malone possesses consider able science but mixes it up with majority of maneuvers in violation of tho book of rules. Jackson, of course, is anything but legitimate in his wrestling methods. Sad Sam Gibson Is Handed Release By Coast League Club San Francisco, Nov. 9 U.R) Sad Sam Gibson, dean of the Pacific Coast league pitchers and one of the oldest active players In all of baseball, today reached the parting of the ways with the Ban Francisco Seals. The venerable hurler, after 12 years of service with the Seals wag handed his release by Presl dent Charley Graham, so "that he can dicker, for a manager's Job." MACK DROPS PLANS TO BUY MINNEAPOLIS CLUB Philadelphia, Nov. 8 U.B Connie Mack, Philadelphia Ath letics manager, announced yes terday that he had dropped all plans for the purchase of the Minneapolis club of the Amer ican association. Mack said he planned a three month trip to California about November 20 and that he might look over training sites on the Pacific coast, indicating that there may be some let-down In the rules on spring training this spring. BLACKMAN HELD E Mervyn Blackman, 28, is being held in the county Jail on a charge of being a fugitive from Justice and awaiting the arrival of officials from San Jose, Calif., where he is said to be wanted on a bad-check charge. Blackman appeared before Judge H. K. Hanna In circuit court yesterday on a writ of habeas corpus but withdrew the writ and signed a waiver on the California charges. Blackman came to the county several weeks ago and for a time oper ated a lunch room in Medford. Grandmother Joins Wacs Whitinsvllle, Mass. Y., Nov. 9 (U.B Thomas Edmund Dewey, defeat ed in his bid for presidency of the U. S., turned his attention again today to the full-time Job of being governor of New York state. ' Dewey returned to the execu tive mansion in Albany last night from New York City, where he had received returns from Tuesday's election which swept President Roosevelt into a fourth term.
