PAGE SEVEN Society and Clubs by Betty Shoemaker Gladys Dooms Heads Navy Mothers Club Gladys Dooms was elected commander of. the Navy Mothers club for the coming year at a meeting held Wednesday at the home of Zora Turpin. Installa tion will be held the first meet ing in January. Assisting Mrs. Dooms during her term as commander will be: Ida Santo, vice commander; Leola Ludwig, adjutant; Frances McConochie, finance officer; Maude Culbertson, chaplain; Minnie Hedgepath, . assistant chaplain; Irene Hemmerling, judge advocate; Mabel Ford, Clara Lees, matrons at arms; Florence Cuffel and Anna Mean are color bearers. A Christmas party has been planned for the next meeting, Dec. 19 at 7:30 p. m. at the home of Florence Cuffell, 909 North Central avenue. A small gift to exchange is to be brought by those attending. Auxiliary Plans Christmas Party 'American Legion auxiliary members will entertain the Le gion post with a Christmas m party Wednesday at the regular meeting of both organizations at 8 p. m. at the armory club rooms. Each member of the post and auxiliary is asked to bring an inexpensive gift to place under the tree. The committee in charge of the program and re freshments are Grace Holmes, Margaret Ingling and Lucille Scheffel. All members of the post and auxiliary are urged to be present. College Club Plans Christmas Meeting Christmastide observance is the theme of the meeting of the Rogue Valley College Women's club which will be held Satur day at 2:30 p. m. at the First Presbyterian church. Guests are invited. The program is in charge of Mrs. H. G. Van Val zah and Mrs. R. C. Joy. 1 Study Group To Meet Tuesday International relations study group of A. A. U. W. will meet with Mrs. John Lawrence, 2218 East Main street Tuesday at 8 p. m. Shower Honors Mrs. Gilman At McCoy Home Mrs. Robert Gilman was hon ored Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. M. A. McCoy on West Main street with a shower. Hostesses for the affair were Mrs. Arthur B. Shirley, Mrs. Carl Pearson, Mrs. Albert Braun and Mrs. Fredricka Glas cock. The rooms were decorated with Christmas greenery and berries. Mrs. Gilman received many gifts. Honoring her were Mesdames Michael Beck, E. W. Wakefield, Charles B. Lewis, Russell R. Zundell, Harry Miller, Earl C o s s, Thomas Lynch, Freda Kingsley, Alda Nyberg, O. F. Nyberg, Ina Hu son, Mildred Phillips, Elsie Ros stern, Edwin Lovell, Frank Hus song, Christine Borge, Frank Fawcett, Birdie Johnson, Misses Blanche Arnold and Caroline Borge and the hostesses. Senior Guild Elect Officers Senior guild members of the St. Mark's Episcopal church will hold a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Oliver Gould, 1316 West Main street, Friday with Mrs. Albert Hyde as co-hostess. Members are asked to bring a small gift to exchange. At a meeting held recently at the home of Mrs. Arthur G. Mc Millin, Mrs. Hazel Hamlin was elected president with Mrs. McMillin to serve as secretary treasurer. A covered dish lunch eon was served. business meeting refreshments were served by Mrs. Helen Huff man, one of the teachers. The tea table was set and decorated by Mrs. Huffman and the inter mediate group. Medford Council The Medford Council of Par ents and Teachers will present an evening of entertainment Thursday at 7 o'clock in the auditorium of the Jackson school. Medford's "Man of Magic." .John Eads, will for one hour show his newest acts that have been delighting audiences every where.
