The new store is ready for public inspection. The added space became nec essary to take care of larger shoe stocks and give better ser vice to customers, according to Mr. Vincent. The store has made a continuous growth, from the start, during the five years the firm has been in business here. A complete new department for men's, boys' and children"! shoes has been added at the rear of the room. New modern chairs and large mirrors have been installed in this depart ment. The added shoe storage space makes it possible to keep all shoes on one floor. It will eliminate the time wasted in going to the basement store room. The ceiling of the entire store was lowered to give a stream line effect and the room was completely redecorated. Merrell Buxton, who recently arrived here from Wichita, Kas., has joined the Buster Brown sales staff. Mr. Buxton has had many years experience in fit ting shoes, William Mansfield, well known local shoe man, has been a member of the staff for the past year. Mr. Vincent, who has a rep utation for creating unusual and interesting window dis plays, has Just installed a real istic model of a modern Con solidated Freightways truck and trailer in one window. The dis play has already created con siderable interest among the small boyi of Medford as well as many grownups. The model which was built in the Consol idated plant, is loaded with small Roblee shoe boxes. FOR SAIE Wood circulating beater. 703 West Fourth. FOR RENT Furnished apartment. Adults only. No. a. ASHLAND ROLLER RINK ONE BLOCK DOWN FROM THE ASHLAND HOTEL IN THE LITHIA CITY 32 Take a tip from the Old-timers Traveling around town here, you'll find Buicks that are still in service after six, eight, ten or even more years. Ms It's worth noting that these sturdy old Quicks are still serving faithfully and well, for several reasons. They have the same basio type of engine as the sleek 1942 Buick - rugged, long lived, extra. efficient valve-in-head, though it is now made better by Fireball combustion. They have the same dependable drive a stout torque tube encasing a sturdy steel shaft stretching its unbroken length from transmission to rear axle. Frames are fundamentally the same now as then; brakes, though hydraulic now, use the same, efficient, self -energizing action. All the factors that make for strength and long life are still present-plut such further advances as all-coil springs, Domite pistons that squeeze more good from gasoline, Compound Carburetionf that spells peak economy with un matched reserve power. There's more comfort, more conven ience, more beauty, more value in these '42 models. But what counts is that they're still Buicks - tough, rugged and dependable. Take a look at what your next car is likely to be up against and ask yourself if that isn't the kind of car it's smart to buy right now. sal 1 -&MMmMmf SKINNER'S GARAGE 143 SOUTH RIVERSIDE PHONE 2740 1 i whin imn AinoMOsius ! sunt suick win suae thim sinsx:
