IAP The American Federation of Labor con vention heard Sen. Robert A. Taft (R-Ohlo) attack today the national labor relations board and call lor trtct "cah and carry" as a substi tute for embargo In the neutrality act. Taft In an address declared a new labor board should bo appoints to administer the Wagner act. The AFL already has advanced such a proposal. Raymond J. Kelly, national com mander of the American Legion told the convention "communist Inspired cliques" were seeking to control the labor movement making Industrial peace almost impossible of achieve ment. In his first speech since his elec tion to the top legion post last week, Kelly pointed to disclosures before the Dies committee purporting to de scribe communist activities In labor ranks, and added: "Those who would Implant TorelKii revolutionary doctrines in the ranks of honest and law-abiding working men must be trampled until thry can never rise again." GUILTY PLEA BY PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 7. (API Mrs. Providenza Mlcclchl, called the "witch" in Philadelphia's murder-for-lnaurance rlnn, halted her trial to day by plead 1 UK guilty to indict ments charging her with the poison murder of Mrs. Jennie Cwwettl, 37 year old mother of six children. The court will hear testimony to tlx the degree of the crlmr and the punishment later. On trial since Tuesday, Mrs. Mlc olcht was the fourth person to halt trial with a guilty plea. So far 13 persons have been convicted nr pleaded guilty to murder. Twelve still are to go on trial. SAYS GE SPOKANE, Oct. 7.
