FIX CALIFORNIA WAGE FOR BEET (MAIN WASHINGTON, Nov. .29. (UP) The department of agriculture today fixed wage rates to be pild laborers In California In production, cultiva tion and harvesting of sugar beets during 1939 by producers seeking benefits under the sugar act. The act specifies growers to be eligible for benefits must pay "fair and reasonable" wage scales fixed by Secretary of Agriculture Henry A. Wallace. Nov. 29. (AP) President Roosevelt. It was learned on good authority last night, has decided to reward the efficiency of his personal physician, Capt. Ross T.
