Friday Evening Recital Delights Large Audience Outstanding In style and aooom pltahment waa the recital, Friday evening, June 3d, at which Roberta Ward Bebb presented a group of her piano and voice pupils, at the Bald win Recital Hall. The range of the program waa wide and varied. Music by Bach, Beethov en and Chopin represented the past, while the names of Grainger, Mana Zucca and Campbell-Tipton signal ized the present. The performers played with a tech nical surety and attention to details of phrasing and expression, which re flected great credit on pupil and teacher alike. The well selected songs were delightfully offered, with clarity of diction and a surprising sense of interpretation. The two piano numbers were per formed with excellent coordination. Explanatory remarks descriptive of the pieces played and sung added greatly to the Interest of the com positions. A capacity and hospitable audience received the students' Interpretations with warm applause. In appreciation for her untiring efforts, little Nancy Lageson and Mary Virginia Walt presented Mrs. Bebb with a large basket of beautiful flowers, on behalf of all her pupils. Miss Barbara Lemmon and Mlstf Jeannette Field charmingly served as ushers. Reports for the year show a big gain In every goal with finances dou bled which doubtless will put the society on the honor roll. Miss Hattle Mitchell, returned missionary from Africa, Installed the newly elected and appointed officers with a few well chosen words, also reporting on some of her work. Mrs. W. Kindred In charge of the program presented Mrs. A. H. Gregory In the past work of the state missions, Mrs. Susan Eads In the local work from 1019 to 1925; Mrs. A. D. Curry 1935 to 1935, and Mrs. L. G. Centner from 1935 to 1938. Mrs. Lois Young sang. "It Was Alone" accompanied by Helen Young; Miss Margarlte Lumsn sang, "Bold Thou My Hand", accompanied by Miss Mildred Buckles. Mrs. Mabel Sims' group won the attendance con test. Honored guests were Mrs. Mar garet Ftsher, a charter member; Miss Hattle Mitchell; Mrs. Rogers of Ash land, granddaughter of the first state missionary president. Mrs. Latham and group served re freshments to 84 members and friends. Pocahontas Lodge Elects Officers Last Friday evening the Pocahontas lodge held election of officers. Those elected for offices were: Propnetess, Nancy Johnston: Pocahontas, Velma Slngler; Wenonah, Lucille Anseth; Powhatan. Fred Powell, and reporter, lone Dooms. After the business meeting refresh ments were served by Norma Martin and Hilda Clifford. On Friday evening the Pocahontas lodge will sponsor a dancing party. Moose Members In Convention Plans Klamath Falls members of Loyal Order of Moose lodge were recent visitors here and were conferring with local .members regarding the coming convention. Klamath Falls members Included: Fannie Mae Thompson, Bll He Bener, Mildred Wilkinson, Opal Bhlen. Mrs. William Peterson, Laurel Baldwin and Anna Eccles. A group of Klamath men lodge enrol) ees were also present. The drill teams and uniform groups will attend the convention In July Reservations from many sections of the state have been received and the lodge expects a large class of men and women Initiates in the near future. Indications are that high state and national officials will be present for the convention. Baptist Ladies Have Session Ladles of the Baptist S. O. S.
