A fete of especial charm wu the miscellaneous shower given In Miss McCormlck's honor yesterday morn ing by Mrs. R. W. Frame at her home In Phoenix. The guests were bidden to a delightful breakfast served In the fragrant, flower-bedecked garden of the Frame home. The numerou blooms harmonized perfectly with the general color motif of pink and blue. After breakfast a session of bridge was held, first award going to Mm. Charles W. Reames, second to Mrs. Ben Stafford and consolation to Mrs. Burdette Dodge. Quests were Miss McCormick, Mrs. D. Ford McCormick, Mrs. O. M. Kldd, Mrs. Ben Stafford, Mrs. R. B. Green,! Mrs. Ernest R. Rogue River Lodge Scene of Pretty , Weddtng Service A few minutes after midnight on Wednesday, June 1, MIm Carrlebelle Gall Ranney was united In marriage to Donald Uoodsell of Los Angeles. Mlsa Ranney, the slater of Mra. Al Ollhousen and Mra Vaughn Stone, came here from Los Angeles, especial ly to be married at the Rogue River lodge and chose the midnight hour so that she might be a June bride. The ceremony wee performed by the Rev. o. E. Millard and only Immedi ate members of the family and a few close frlenda were present. Mr. and Mra. Ooodsell left shortly after the service for Long Beach where they will make their Tiome. The bride formerly made her home In this city, she attended school here and was a popular member of the younger set. Recent Bride Honored At . Several Parties Group Returns From Vacation Miss Prances Krnney, Mrs. Louise McPherson and Mr. William Isaacs recently returned to their respective nomes nere from a three weeks' mo. tor trip. The group wont to San Francisco via the coast route. In the Bay city they enjoyed Helen Hayes' perfor mance In "Reglna Victoria." They then preceded to Yosemlte. Boulder dam, Orand canyon, ZIon canyon, Bryce canyon and then went to Salt Lake City where they enjoyed a brief stay. Enroute to Medford they vlalted various places In eastern Oreaon and enjoyed a day at Crater lake. Dorothy Christian Feted Friday Eve A surprise birthday dinner was given In honor of Dorothy Christian at her home on S10 North Bartlett etreet Friday evening June the Srd. A dellrloua dinner was served by Elva Castor at 6:30 In the evening! the table waa decorated with beauti ful roses for Jhe hapRv occasion. The evening was spent In visiting and entertainment. Medford Music Club Broadcast Enjoyed The Medford Music club gave Its fourth broadcast over KMED Friday night at 7:30 Mra. James Stevens, radio chairman, presented aa guest artists Mr. Sherman Carter, promlalng young baritone from Klamath Falls, and Mr. Laurence Hubert. Medford vlolinlat. Mrs. Mack Will Attend Cornell Mrs. Mabel Mack, oounty home demonstration agent, recently ar- Ived In Medford from Corvallls whore she has been attending Ore gon state college. Mrs. Mack will leave here June 10 for Pittsburgh, Penn., where she will attend the American home economic convention. She will then procede to Ithaca, Now York, and enroll In Cornell university for the remaining part of the summer. Mra. Mack will return to Medford the middle of August and resume her work here. Miss Marcy Wescott In Operatic Debut At New York City Of Interest to her many friends In Medford, particularly In the ranch colony. Is the newa of the operatic debut of Mlsa Marcy Wescott at the Windsor theatre In New York City. June 1, aa ingenue atar in the auc- ceasful operetta "Two Bouqueta," produced by Marc Connelly. Mlsa Weacott has frequently been the guest here of her aunt Mra, Louie Salade, at her ranch home In Seven Oaks, and a few years ago, when a mere mlsa of 16. gave a charming aong recital one evening to about tiny guests, at the Salade home. A beautiful blonde with an ex ceptionally true and resourceful so prano. Miss Wescott hss studied both at home and abroad, and many yeara ago a brilliant future waa predicted for her by both crltlca and membera of the teaching pro resslon. Gates, Miss Mary Kellogg, daughter of Mr. and Mra. W. H. Kellogg of Medford. became the bride of Mr. Bruce Ruff, son of Mr. and Mra. M. 8. Ruff of thla city at a 7 o'clock ceremony Sat urday evening. The Rev. Sherman L. Divine read the service In the presence of 100 guests who stood In the beautifully appointed yard which was bedecked with large basket, of pastel flowera. Mr. Kellogg gave his daughter In marriage. The bride waa lovely In a gown of peach net over aatln with a matching aaab. high neck and puffed sleeves, she wore silver suppers and carried a bouquet of rosebuds. Her twin sister was bridesmaid and waa becoming In a blue dreaa of the same style aa the bride. Mr. Duane Bergstrom acted aa best man for Mr. Ruff. Mlas Corrlne Harwood rendered "I Love You Truly." prior to the aerv ice. She waa accompanied by her alater Nola. on the violin. Mrs. Ruff, until recently, made her home In Portland with her fam ily. She graduated from Commerce high school In that city last Feb ruary.. During the past several weeks she haa been feted at a number of enjoyable showers and parties. Among those honoring her were Mra. The couple, after a two weeks' wedding trip, will make their home here on route 3. Brantley-Todd Wedding Held In Bellview Former Residents Visit Simpsons Mr. and Mra. Jack Simpson return ed Friday from a combined pleasure and business trip spent In California. in Burllngame the couple were guests of Mr. Simpson's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David Lamoreaux. The visitors also enjoyed a visit with Mr. Simpson's mother. Mrs., Konert Foster who came from Fresno to Burllngame to be with them for a day. Mr. and Mrs. Simp son then went to Sacramento where the former attended a Standard Oil flamo aesslon. Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Rychen M. Paddack of Portland, ar rived In Medford and are house guests at the Simpson's home on Howard street. They formerly resided In thla city and were, popular mem bera of Medford society. Several entertainments have been planned for the guests who will be here until Tuesday. Brantley on Siskiyou boulevard, in Bellview, when their daughter, Mlas Olsdys L. Brantley became the bride of Angua Todd, son of Mr. and Mra. William Todd of Medford In the presence of a large number of rela tives and close friends, the Rev. C. E. Dunham, paator of the Baptist church reading the Impressive ring service Before the ceremony Mlas Olivia Todd, alater of the bridegroom, ssng "O, Promise Me." To the strains of the Lohengrin wedding music played by Mrs. C. E. Dunham, the bridal party entered and took their placea before the improvised altar and the marriage vowa were spoken. Fragrant roaea formed the archway before the wide fireplace In front of which the group stood. Roses, white and pink were used In the decora tions of the rooms. The bride waa attended by her sister, Mrs. Jack Walker aa matron of honor and Mr. Leroy Williams of Medford was the beat man. The bride waa lovely in a pink lace wedding gown with blue acces sories, her long veil, caught by a bandeau of pink rosebuds. Lilies. sweetpeas and rosebuds composed the bouquet she- carried. The matron of honor was gowned In yellow net and carried a bouauet or pink rosebuds. The bride's moth. er, Mra. Brantley wore a blue crepe gown. A reception followed the ceremony, The bride cut the wedding cake at an attractively appointed table. Mrs. Todd Is a graduate of the southern Oregon Normal school and taught successfully the past year In Granta Pass She haa been active In the work of the young people of the Baptist church. Expecting to be treated to the usual army meal the guests were indeed surprised when they entered the dining room and saw a beauti fully decorated table and were serv ed a delicious turkey dinner by the apron clad veterans. Dessert con sisted of a very large cake dedi cated to the members who had had birthdays since the beginning of the year. Business transacted consisted of plans for summer activities which Included a picnic to be held In Llthla park June 26.
