Thla is an annuel affair of the Medford Garden club and this year, more than ever before. It Is being anticipated as a most Interesting end pleasant event. Mrs. Alfred Carpenter Is general chairman of the tour. Each garden open for visit and Inspection hss been specially named and at each home an assistant hostess will be present. Red pennants will Indicate the nearest approach to the various gardens and a reception committee will be present at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce from 8 to 10 o'clock In the morning and from 1 to 3 o'clock In the afternoon to direct callers to the different places. An outstanding feature of Garden Day will be the tea at the home of Mrs. Oeorge Roberts on crown mil from i to S o'clock. This affair will bring to a close the day's activities. Wednesday morning from 0 to 1 o'clock the west side of town will be visited and the following gardens will be offered for Inspection: home of Col. W. H. Beers In Grants Pass Rites A wedding of special Interest took place at Grants Pass on Modday aft ernoon, May 10, when Joan Leland charming daughter of Mrs. Prances Leland of this city, became the brldi of Prank James Beers at a simple ring ceremony at the Metliodlst Eplscopal parsonage In that city Only the Immediate relatives of the couple were present. Mrs. Beers is well known In Med ford, having moved here from Arl zona eight years ago with her mothei and brother, Gilbert Leland. She Is a graduate of the Medford high school and is very popular with the younger set here. The groom came to Medford a year ago from Portland and Is a member of the state police force. He attended University of Oregon, where he was member of Sigma Chi fraternity, and also attended Eastern Oregon Normal. 1 ' Immediately following the cere mony the couple left by motor for Portland and points north. They will return to Medford about June 1 and will make their home here. Past-Matrons Entertain Neighbor Clubs The past-matrons of Reames chap ter No. 66 O. E. The tables were very attrac tive with May poles and vases of snowballs and coral bells. After the luncheon many ladles played bridge-land beano while others visited. Following business meeting, refresh ments were served by the hostess.
