(UP) There was almost one divorce for every two marriage In Oregon during 1P36. Of the 7422 marriages in ibbo. there were 2566 divorces a per centage of approximately .34. in 1935 the percentage was approxi mately .35 and in 1934 approxi mately .36. If the decrease of .01 percent continues each year, by 1970 there will be no divorces. The number of marriages since 1934 hava Increased approximately 550 each year. If they continue at j that pace about 400.000 persons or almost half of the state's popula tion In 1930 will be married in 1970. The odds are approximately 1.000. 000 to 1 that neither a Siamese nor Malay was married or divorced during 1936 for the simple reason there was only one of each in the state. Land For All If all the land In Oregon waa to be divided equally, each man. woman and child In the state (ac cording to the 1936 estimated cen sus) would have about 61 acres. Then. If all the persons In vlllagea and cities moved to the country, each farm would have approxi mately 16 persons. At present the average size of the farm family la only four.
