a discussion of birth control in the
hous of assembly here.
"I am of the opinion birth con

horse," Dr. Hawkins declared, "there

almost one divorce for every two
marriage In Oregon during 1P36.
Of the 7422 marriages in ibbo.
there were 2566 divorces a per
centage of approximately .34. in
1935 the percentage was approxi
mately .35 and in 1934 approxi
mately .36. If the decrease of .01
percent continues each year, by 1970
there will be no divorces.
The number of marriages since
1934 hava Increased approximately
550 each year. If they continue at j
that pace about 400.000 persons or
almost half of the state's popula
tion In 1930 will be married in
1970.
The odds are approximately 1.000.
