(AP) Unl wnity of Oregon ran IU home-field winning itreak to seven complete eea soni today by defeating Oregon State college, 13 to 0, In their annual "civil war. The Webfoots etarted their two first half touchdown drlvee when they re covered Oregon Stat fumbles. Coach Lon Stiner surprised the 10,- 000 fans by starting an entire second string of "shock troops." He left the reserves In the game until Oregon scored once and threatened again The Beaver regulars then couldn't pull out of the hole, and themselves yielded another toucnaown. Rlordan's punte, which averaged 43.2 I yards, put Oregon State In the hole time and again, and one of his long boots paved the ?.ay to the second touchdown. He thumped the ball ever Safety Joe Oray'a head and Ore ton recovered on the Oregon State Id-yard line. A speedy drive netted a touchdown. Even that doesn't tell all the story ef Rlordan's punting. Once he sent a BP-yard punt out of bounds on Ore gon State's one-foot line and a few mlnutea later punted out on the Beaver one-yard line. Thrills Provided The Beavers, particularly Joy Oray, gave the spectators plenty of thrills with their wideopen plays and later all. However, several long gains were called back when Oregon State's In tended laterals were thrown forward. The Beavers threatened In the sec ond period when they drove to the Oregon 33, and again In the third quarter when they drove to the Web- foot 36. Both times the Oregon pass defense functioned beautifully and the threats ended. Oregon had the ball on tlie Oregon State two-yard line, second down and goal to go when the game ended. Oregon State received, and befoie a , third of the spectators realized the second string was playing, Skinner Intercepted Mountain's fumble and Oregon's drive started on the Beaver SS-yard line, Itraddock Recovers Mlchek fumbled aa he drove to a first down, but Braddock recovered and made five more to the Oregon State 15. Coach Stiner and hts regu lars ettt silently on bench and the spectators wondered when the regu lars would go in. An end-around by ' Rlordan and bucks by Braddock and Mlchek produced a first down on the Oregon State four. On the third down Lewis lie atarted wide and out sharply over tackle for a touchdown. Mlchek mlMed a plsceklck. Carter, Oregon guard, who Inter cepted several passes, recovered Moun tain's punt on the Beaver 10 shortly after the next klckoff. It was only then that Coach Stiner sent In his regulars, who held the Webfoou and knocked down a fourth -down pass. Midway In the second quarter Ore ton took advantage of another break when Oray touched but couldn't catch Rlordan's long erar,y bouncing punt and BJork recovered on the Ore gon State 18. Rlordan. Lnaselle and Mlchek boom ed to a first down on the Oregon State eight, and Mlchek, the Scap pooee Limited, crashed through for a touchdown on the second play, win Pepper replaced Amato at guard and place klrkrd for the extra point. The rilnrleet run occurred on the next klckoff. Plamtng-halred Joe Oray, Beaver halfbacwk, took the ball en hla 10, loped to hla 30 and cut Sharply to hfa left. Aa two Oregon men reached for him, he changed his pace to full speed and broke be tween them. Through another tack- ter he ran. but was slowed Just enough to keep him from breaking Into a clear field. On the 60-yard line he was topped again, pivoted, reversed his ftetd and tateraled to Plsher. a slow moving tackif, who wa In the open, and gained five more before going down. "Might Have Been" A fast-starting man In Fisher's place probably would hare been loose for a touchdown. Oregon State took the air time and Main, sometimes with success, but Coach Prink CellUon'e men seldom were foxed twice In succession on the eerer tosses. Oreeon State never got a real break. Once Oray Ktned 13 yards and later sled to a teammate for 3ft more, but the play was called back for an otf ld. The lineups: Oregon State Oregon Caeerly tR... CHEIV1AWA 10 PLAY HOPE FOR UPSET Th Chamawa Indiana, after getting away to a shaky atari early In the seaon, will Invade Van Scoyoc field tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock In an effort to revive their battered prea tlge ngalnst the undefeated and un tied Medford Tlgera. While reporta have put tha Indiana in the underdog position, they will be much more dangeroua than their early season record would Indicate. for they have been coming forward dangerously In their last few games With a small but fast team the In dlana are relying upon speed and de ception, and are said to possess an unuaually effective passing combina tion. Coach Bower man of Medford, after watching his charges skim out a win over Klamath Palls by a precarious live points because of weakness against pasRCa, has been drilling his chargea hard all week on thla phase of the warfare, and expects to present an Impregnable wall for the Indian orone attack. A win for Chemawa would trip the Tiger march on the etate championship, so the Medford mentor Is tajtlng no chances on an upaet. If the Indian offense and defense provea strong, the entire first string of the Hed and Black will remain In the fray, but If the Chemawa for ward wall crumples, aa haa most for ward walls faced this year, tha razzle dazzle second string will get a chance to get Into action, building up reserve strength for the coming Jousts with Myrtle Point, Grants Pass and Ashland. Taking no chances on the possi bility of an unorthodox defense on tho part of the Redskins. Bowerman haa drilled his first, second and third teams on how to perform against any kind of an unbalanced or short manned line, and feara little diffi culty in that department. The starting lineup for the Tigers will probably be: Right end. drew: right tackle, Blalrl: right guard. Dickinson; center, Stocks: left guard. Baker; left tackle. Santo: left end. R. Ettlnger; quarterback. B. Ktttnger; left half. twla: right half. Smith; fullback. Sakralda. Hedwig- fell on the oval on the Huskies 25-yard line. Three tlmea Floyd Blower, California's sub left half, smashed Into the Husky lino to slither off tackles for a total of 19 yards. With the ball on the ten yard marker. Blower whipped a pass to Quarterback Meek who made the catch over the goal line. Sparks, sub left end, converted. Early In tne third ywi lod, Cali fornia banged over the second touchdown to clinch victory. It fol lowed a 60-yard advance, witn Blower throwing a 30-yard pass to Sparks, for the score. The touch down play provided extra thrills aa Blower had dropped the ball, scooped It up and rifled U away, as the Washington Giants charged In on him. Again Sparks place kicked the extra point. Each aide mlased field goal at tempts. As the game neared Its end, Washington put on a closing drive that had the crowd on edge. MEMORIAL COLISEUM, LOS AN KLES. Nov. . (API A field goal by Jim (Monk) MoBcrlp in the last 40 seconds of play enabled Stanford to defeat Southern California, 8 to 0. today. Just when 40,000 spectators had decided neither team could score In a week of Saturdays. Stanford, heafily ftvored to win by ten or more points, saw more than 58 minutes of the game was without a payoff. Stanford lost the ball on downs on Southern California's one-yard line In the middle of the third quarter and could not get going again until the game progressed to its last five min utes. The winners then completed their first pass and this finally led to the field goal by the sharpshooter. Moacrlp. The rifle shot was slmed from the 15-yard line. Southern California, playing its best football of an indifferent season, was alert throughout and smart quick kicks three times sent the visitors back on their heels. 1 Stanford's running game was ef fective except when the final touch down punch wrs needed. The Indians negotiated 16 first downs and gained 220 yards rushing before they could score. Southern California, too. had Its chances to score but could not de liver in the pinch. The Trojans lost the ball on downs on Stanford's 11 yard line In the first period and moved to the three-yard line In the second quarter. With the defense functioning so well neither team could show a con sistent offense, until the contest was on Its last legs, the game seemed about to end In a scoreless tie when Stanford suddenly leaped Into the threatening position with a coniple te ed pass. Six previous passing at tempts had resulted In failure, but this time Bobby Grayson passed to Keith, stopping on Southern, Califor nia's 85-yard line, a gain of U yards. Orayson crashed to the 30-yard line and then passed to BUI Paudman on the05-yard line. Orayson then went bark to pass again but could not find a receiver, so he ran with the ball and, catching the Trojans napping, galloped to the nine-yard line, where he was chased out of bounds. He then moved on to the six, but the next play lost a yard and Moscrlp was Cri'.:ed on to get the three points quite enough to win the game. .Stanford had missed a great chance to score In the third period when the Indians went from their own 20 yard line to Southern California's one before losing the ball.
