Mr. Kroerner. assistant to Verne Bhangle, a new member of the club, ipoke on the Influence of movie technique on lighting in general photography, and nlso gave practical points on get ting characteristic expression in children's portrait. Safety from fire risk of the 16mm. film and the newer X-ray films, was demonstrat ed by Mr. Miller, who brought out also the improvement In movie photography by the use of a newer super sensitive panchromatic film. A demonstration of a device for measuring shutter speed and direc tion and how to use an auto wheel for the same purpose was given by Thomas Radcllffe. An exhibit from Verne Shangle'i atudlo showing many forms of photography was greatly appreciated.. Portraits of Mayor Porter, piwt Mayor Wilson, Amos Burg and others, were outstanding. Land-; scapes of the Poole home on the Applcgnte, and a fine Crater Lake in color, taken with a thre times filter, and showing sky am water in beauty aa seldom recorded were of particular Interest. In the news section, pictures of the wreck at the Davis building and of the basketball plays showed how photography recorda every day life. This exhibit set a mark for ama teurs in showing the possibilities of photography as accomplished by talent and experience. The club is trying to secure safe ty In traffic films, which will be shown when obtained. For the next meeting. March 14, E. Waah., Feb. 18 (AP) Labor troubles which have confronted the brewing industry for many months, broke out afresh here today after two weeks of compara tive calm. Pickets were posted around the Star brewery here this morning as two union factions, the teamsters and the brewery workers, once again disputed Jurisdiction over employes. Union leaders here said pickets were placed at the plants of all beer making plants identified with the Northwest Brewers' association. Port land and Salem breweries would be affected, it was said.
