Getter of Long Beach, Cal., are the guests in Medford of Mr. and Mrs E. C. Ferguson. They are en route to Bellingham, Wash. Mr. Ferguson Is Mr. and Mrs. Getter's nephew. Railway Agent Here J. T. Wallace of Portland, traveling agent for the Chicago Northwestern railway, arrived in Medford this morning from Port land. Expects to Leave Hospital Leo Pot ter, who sustained a fractured leg some time ago on his farm near Cen tral Point, is expected to leave the Sacred Heart hospital soon for his home. To Inspect Line N. C. White, as sistant forestry superintendent, left this morning to inspect the forestry telephone line between Medford and Trail, and will continue to the Upper Rogue CCO camp. To Los Angeles Mrs. Manila Bur dell and daughter Betty Jane left on the train this morning for Los An geles, where they will spend Mother's day with Mrs. Burdell a mother ana sister. Apple Thinning Starts Chaa. A. Wing reports apple' thinning in full swing in the Wing orchards, where a crew of 30 men are at work. The season Is a month early this year. according to Mr. Wing, who says thinning started last year on June 7, while this year the work began on May 0. mm Veterans Form League According to announcement in the Ashland Tid ings, a Veterans Voter league has been formed for Jackson county. It was organized at a recent meeting, of the veterans of this section, held in the Llthia city. Newman was . elected chairman and Capt. O. L. Overmeyer was named secretary. The next meet ing of the Veterans' Voter league will be held on Wednesday, May 8, In the Armory, at 8 p. m and veterans of ! all wars have been asked to attend, lacording to A. E. Thursday, May 10, for their usual session and art study. All persons interested tn art are in vited to meet with the group, and to please bring all work for the exhibit. The time has been changed from May 13 to May 19. Airmail on Schedule The airmail went, through on schedule here last night, after a delay of 24 hours, which was made in order to make possible a simultaneous start of all coast lines. As Medford la no longer a division point, the planes go straight through, with no pilot stationed here perma nently. Robert Mansfield arrived late last night from the Pelican Bay Lumber company cut over area, where he had spent several days studying the reproduction of timber and reporting on present tim ber resources. Mansfield, assisted by R. Munter, encountered rough wea ther on the trip, reporting a two-Inch snowfall. Girls' Community Club All girls Interested in beauty culture are in vited to the meeting of the Girls Community club to be held this even ing at the Emma Cllne shop at 7:30 o'clock, at which time Mrs. Vera Mer shon will address the group on care of skin, hair and hands. The lecture Is one of a series, arranged through Mrs. Edith Patton's course for the girls.
