Olmscheld has keen busy all week selecting polling places for the primary election May 16. Selections will be compiled early text week. Some changes will be made, but for the most part the for nor polling places have been retained. Eleven polling places will be picked tor the new precincts created last (flnter, because they exceeded tho 400 voters to a precinct limitation tired by state law. Nine of the new precincts are in thU city, as follows; South Riverside, Hlllcrest, King, Cot tage, Queen Anne, Med ford South, Northeast, Kenwood and Haven. 8rownsboro Is a new precinct created from Eagle Point, and Ashland Sou Fa Is the new Ashland precinct. Official ballots have been received from the secretary of state. Each precinct will receive as many ballots as It has reg istered voters. The ballots will not be distributed until the afternoon be. fore the election and the morning of the election. Musical Program Spectal Treat At First Methodist Mr. and Mrs. P. Charles Hud die a ton, "the California musical mes sengers," were presented last night to the large audience attending tho Duff evangelistic meeting In the First! Methodist church. They delighted, the congregation with numbers on I the marimba and also vocal numbers. They also sang In mixed quartet with the evangelist and Miss Evangeline Duff. Mrs. Huddleston is a sister of Rev. Walter Duff, Jr. The Hud dies tons were passing i through and decided to stop over a few days and visit. They will be present and heard again tonight. Throughout the week the audiences 1 have been steadily Increasing. Groups ' from Phoenix, Central Point, Ash- J land and Grant Pass have been present. As a preacher, Rev. Duff draws the young people as few evangelists do. and their presence In choir and con gregatlon Is quite noticeable. CELEBRATES PASSING OF Mrs. Adelaide Henry celebrated her 90th birthday Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. O. Coffin, of the Hueston road. The birthday cake was made by her granddaughter, Mrs. E. J. White, of East Phoenix. Many friends called during the day and brought lovely bouquets. Mrs. Henry, who was born April 38, 1844, has viewed many Interesting events during her life. In 1874. with her husband. Nelson Henry, and their two children, they passed through Grand Forks, N. D., at the time of the Stoux Indian uprising. They later moved to Hinckley, Minn., where they operated the Henry house at the time of the great Hinck ley fire In 1894. where over 700 peo ple lost their Uvea and where a gran ite monument 67 feet high now marks the spot where over 500 unidentified dead were burled. Mrs. Henry has 17 great grandchil dren, 10 of them living here and seven In Superior, Wis. The White children of Crystal Springs orchard, and Marjorle, John and Bruce Mills of Ashland are her great grand-chil dren. Coming here from Duluth, Minn., 10 years ago, Mrs. Henry stated that she has alwayst liked the state of her adoption. EARLY DAY GRAVE Many lcavea hare fallen and muiy summer auoa have coma and gone since a lone prospector, weary with the labors of a day, came by a white oak tree not fax from Ruch, along the Applegate highway. Fired wlth the heat of the Indian war of 1S53,! a redskin waa perched among the branches. A shot apllt the quiet autumn air and the prospector's mining days were over. His body was found a short time after by other miners and it was given a resting place in a shallow grave among the pines. Joe Thomas, who has been digging back Into history for Oregon's Dia mond Jubilee celebration here next June, said yesterday the grave la still visible from the road, with a collec tion of small trees growing on the leveling mound. The miner's name was never known. No gravestone ever marked the grave of the unknown miner who sacrificed his life in the development of southern Oregon.
