Hllcs was hostess to the Oak Grove Neighbor hood club with 13 members present, and Mrs. C. H. Oile as a visitor. A most enjoyable afternoon was spent tn sewing and visiting. Plans were completed for the covered dish dinner to be held on the evening of the 37th at the home of Mr. and Mrs P. C. Sander for club members and their husbands. Sleeter. Girls' lopue Tea Event of Thursday On Thursday the Girls' League of Medford high school gave a tea for the Incoming sophomores. The ob ject of the affair was to acquaint the new girls with the faculty and school. President Alleen Latham Introduced each new student to an older girl, who will act as her "big sister" dur ing the first of next semester. The neophytes were then shown over the building and Introduced to students and teachers. Tea was served by Helen Stearns, vice-president of the league, and Bethel Slagle, secretary. The tables in charge of Joyce Banish, were at tractively decorated In green and yel low. The refreshments were prepared by the home economics department. with the women of the Grange enter tainlng. Graduating Class at Roosevelt Entertained Members of the graduating class of the Roosevelt school, who furnished the program Friday afternoon at the meeting of the Roosevelt Home and School circle, enjoyed a party with their Instructor, Miss Asplnwall and other teachers following the meeting. Mrs. Hbey, chairman of the membership committee, reported the circle now has 82 members and that in the contest for members Miss Harding's and Miss Lynch's rooms had tied for first place. The lunch room committee also reported the A pupils, who are passing Into Jun ior high school, entertained with two song numbers. The members of tho class were Introduced by one of their number, Jacqueline Flynn. Betty Handy, who leads ln scholar, j ship; Rodney Stead, who has a fine record in athletics, having earned six letters; Ralph Seeley and Maynard Clegg have also been prominent in athletics. Kugene Bennett has been a loyal member of the boys' trio and has won several poster contests. Henry Anderson Is known as a Jolly good fellow, always ready with a good Joke. Dale Hoffman plays trombone ln the school band. Mabel Sexton Is class poet and shows ability as a story writer. OUIe Calkins has become one of the moat capable pupils. Luncheon was enjoyed at noon with Mrs. Minnie Bryant, class president, acting as toastmistress. Mrs. Huson gave a toast to the class and other toasts were given to the children, grandchildren and Inlaws of class members. A news letter from the new state convention secretary, r. W.
