Mrs. R. festes, Mrs. u. Jensen and Mrs Marshall. A large attendance t ex pected. Mrs. Gnte Hostess To Roosevelt Teachers. Teachers of the Roosevelt school were delightfully entertained Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Oates. The evening was de voted to cards with three tables of auction bridge In play. Decorations of pink and blue gave a hint of spring to the occasion, the motif being ex pressed in flowers and favors. Prizes were awarded Mrs. Ethel WUIltta, Miss Sura Van Meter and Mrs. Nina Carlon at Cards. Norweclnn Whist Party Enjoyed. Mr. and. Mrs. Pat 8hea were hosts last evening at a Norwegian whist party, which was enjoyed by a num ber of their friends, who gathered at the Shea home, 344 South Cen tral. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Ander son, Mr. and Mrs. Westvong. Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Hicks, Mrs. Coppln. Louise Rogers. Herman Voelk ner. Fidelity Circle Entertained Tuesday There were 18 members of Fidelity , circle In attendance at the meeting Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Agnes Koppes. Dessert luncheon was en Joyed, with Mrs. R. P. Mortensen as sisting the hostess. At the business meeting, which fol lowed with Mrs. Rnseborough presid ing, hostesses for two tables at the states banquet were named. They were: Mrs. Koppen. who will be assist ed by Mrs. W. F. Campell; Mrs. Kop pes, who will be assisted by Mrs. Mortensen. Mrs. Smylie.'who will appoint her assistants from this circle, will be one of those In charge of the kitchen for the banquet. Mrs. Koppen and Mrs. W. O. An drews provided the entertainment Tuesday by supplying educational Jig-saw puzzles. Date of States Banquet Announced. . Plans have been announced for the ninth annual States Banquet to be sponsored at the Methodist Episcopal church In Medford February a at the church hall. Each guest Is asked to contribute the refreshments. 4 Miss Phipps Hostess -To Bible Class. Miss May Phipps entertained the Womens' Bible class of the First M. E. church Thursday afternoon at her home with 18 or more present. A quilt top was pieced while the women listened to some helpful articles read by the hostess. Refresh menta were served. Lutheran La din Aid to Meet. The next meeting of the Lutheran Ladles' Aid has been announced for Thursday afternoon at the home of Mra. W. T. Shea, 344 South Central. Mrs. A. E. Pederson will be the assist, ant hostess. Guests are asked to arrive at 2:30 o'clock and an invita tion Is extended members and friends. Mrs. Sweeney Leuves For Portland Visit. Mrs. Charles T. Sweeney, president of the Ladles' Auxiliary of the Oregon 8tate Medical society, left Saturday for Portland where she will make her official visit to the Portland Aux iliary on Monday: preside at a board meeting on Tuesday and assist in organizing a county auxiliary at Cor valli on Wednesday. Mrs. Sweeney plans to return home the latter part of the week. Women' Bible Clnss Meets With Miss Phipps The Women's Bible class of the M. E. church with Mrs. S. L. Leonard as leader met Thursday at the home of Miss May Phipps. There were 17 mem bers present. After the devotional period, conducted by Mrs. Leonard, with .the assistance of Miss Phipps, short business meeting was held. The remainder of the afternoon was then devoted to sewing on quilt blocks.' after which refreshments were served by the hostess. ! ! Mrs. Mark Sneaks Before Oak Grove Club The regular meeting of the Oak Grove community club held last Tuesday at the school house was well attended with 28 members present. A program was given by several mem ber of each room. After the pro gram the members had the pleasure of hearing Mr.- Mabel Mack In a short taJk on the projects taken up by other clubs In various parts of the county. Refreshments were served and a very nice time was had by all present. The next meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 30th. The club will give & benefit program In the near future. Card Party.
