On Wednesday, Mrs. 0, A. Hllcs was
hostess to the Oak Grove Neighbor
hood club with 13 members present,
and Mrs. C. H. Oile as a visitor.
A most enjoyable afternoon was
spent tn sewing and visiting. Plans
were completed for the covered dish
dinner to be held on the evening of
the 37th at the home of Mr. and Mrs
P. C. Sander for club members and
their husbands. After the business
meeting refreshments were served by
the hostess.
The next regular meeting will be
held t the home of Mrs. W. T. Knlps
on February 7.

Girls' lopue Tea
Event of Thursday
On Thursday the Girls' League of
Medford high school gave a tea for
the Incoming sophomores. The ob
ject of the affair was to acquaint
the new girls with the faculty and
school.
President Alleen Latham Introduced
each new student to an older girl,
who will act as her "big sister" dur
ing the first of next semester. The
neophytes were then shown over the
building and Introduced to students
and teachers.
Tea was served by Helen Stearns,
vice-president of the league, and
Bethel Slagle, secretary. The tables
in charge of Joyce Banish, were at
tractively decorated In green and yel
low. The refreshments were prepared by
the home economics department.

the school band.
Mabel Sexton Is class poet and
shows ability as a story writer.
OUIe Calkins has become one of
the moat capable pupils. To her ef

Richard Hewitt la the newest mem
ber and Is called the traveler, having
recently come to the school from
Minnesota.
Judge E. B. Day' spoke on some
problems connected with the Juve
nile department of hia office. Mem
bers of the P.-T. A. were urged to
co-operat In their solution.

Mrs. R. L. Hague of DeBarr avenue

the First Baptist church Tuesday.
Luncheon was enjoyed at noon with
Mrs. Minnie Bryant, class president,
acting as toastmistress.
Mrs. Huson gave a toast to the
class and other toasts were given to
the children, grandchildren and

was read. A short business meeting
and a social hour with an "airplane
