So says Prof. Lee Emerson Bett of Stanford university, president of the Nations 1 Association of Teachers of Speech, which opened lta annual convention yesterday. He described the President's speech as a standard form of English, yet lively and varied and with excellent pronunciation and enunciation. "He la an example of what our speech can and should be the speech of an educated and cultured man." Ray K. Immel of the University of Southern California said the Presi dent uses simple language and the quality of his voice la persuasive and friendly.
